So how about those visas being reintroduced for travelling to the EU guys. It's not exactly Trumps fault since Obama had two years to fix it but didn't. But this is easily used as anti-Trump ammo. It's not happening yet exactly, but I'd say it's pretty inevitable, barring a last minute replacement of Trump by a completely opposite behaving clone.

It's not inevitable. This is like the hundredth piece of shocking news from an EU body that does not have the power to enforce law. It's like the porn ban. Or the censorship. Or the alleged trade war started over locale copyrights.

That's just how the EU is. I'd type out the tirade of complaints of how the EU bodies govern beyond this but LW will probably come in here in the next twelve hours and argue it more passionately.

I really doubt that would happen. Based on his strategy so far, he'd probably say something like. "Good riddance, Europe is the worst. Who wants to go there anyways?" He's been peddling the isolationist wet dream thus far, I don't see him suddenly acting as though what the rest of the world thinks of the US matters.

Canadian federal judged reconfirmed the verdict to deport 59 year old Len van Heest to the Netherlands, ignoring his request of stay on humanitarian grounds based on medical advice that being separated from everyone he knows, and deported to a country he doesn't even speak the language of (his mother emigrated to Canada with his Canadian father when he was a few months old) will likely retrigger his bipolar disorder.

The judge ruled that he had his chance to better his ways, but since he's broken the law a few more times since his juvenile detention, he should be deported immediatly.

Dutch authorities have not much to offer him. When he arrives, he will be directed to the homeless care of the Leger des Heils (Salvation Army). Since he's not an immigrant, but technically a Dutch citizen, he'll probably have to wait a few years before he can get a place to live at. Social renting companies average waiting time for newcomers is easily over 5 years.

His 82 year old mom says she fears she will never see her son again, and doesn't know what to do without his care.

If he liked living in Canada he should've become a Canadian citizen, but he chose not to. He himself said he was a "citizen of the world" instead. Well, the Netherlands is just as much a part of the world as Canada is.

Not sure about Canada's laws, but in many countries if the child has different citizenships inheritable from two parents, the child has to make a choice when they come of age which citizenship they want to fall under. If he chose not to be Canadian when he turned 18(or whatever age), he's not Canadian. After that point it doesn't matter much anymore. There was probably a point at which he could have petitioned it. (Or just gone through the 4-5 year process to become a citizen once adult like anyone else) But it'd be hard to make that case now as he's being deported.
