LOL-- well played, but no--  The strict adherence to specific language is very much a part of this nonsense. They call it "Core competency", and evaluate it using the standardized testing methodology-- which then gives rise to very specific answers that are considered correct, because allowing the teacher to reward or praise individual thinking works against the dogmatic view that all children are identical blank memory cartridges awaiting instructions on how to be universal robots.

Jokes aside, I dealt with that plenty back in school.

I had some particularly good teachers who would say that yes, this is how we needed to answer the question, but this is what is actually true. Especially in English, History, etc. The standardized stuff was awful.

That's what I've heard too, the whole 'Nero fiddling while Rome burned' is likely just a rumor and he was a pretty good ruler, if not very popular with 'traditionalists' (who I assume were mainly rich Romans who wanted to keep the status quo).
