All I can say at the moment is I'd really like to stop feeling like I need to bludgeon someone with a ledger every time I look into something this administration is doing. I'd also be less viscerally pissed off it stopped being things a goddamn AS degree accountant can look at and go, "Yo', what in the hell."

Probably the angrier stance? Bush and Obama were more of 'ignore/shun the NK trolls as much as possible and chastise when they do something bad'.

Of course, being the ultimate international pariah hasn't exactly stopped NK from doing what they're doing.

Sending military into the area, North Korea will eventually do something that justifies declaring war on them (heck... They probably already have) And being more prepared to fight them is a plus in my book.

I don't doubt that most of you are fine with open discussion of differing opinions, but in my college campus, you'd be surprised how hostile the environment is when somebody finds out I voted for trump.

The THAAD thing was already happening under Obama, though the new SK President has halted more of them for now.

I could imagine Obama sending the naval fleet up there (wouldn't have botched up the messaging of sending it, though NK was probably embarassed after they blinked and freaked out after Trump unintentionally bluffed), but they were heading up there for routine military drills with SK. Though I agree, NK has been ratcheting up the tension lately.

Not surprised at that, unfortunately, given the heavy liberal bent that colleges have been going the past decades.

E: Ha, though it's not just a matter of liberal, per se. Approval of trump tends to sink as education goes up. Part of that is because more educated folks tend to be more liberal, but not all. Lotta' the shit he's been up to and done previously are pretty transparently terrible on one level or another if you have the experience or knowledge to tell what's involved, and education tends to increase the likelihood of that even if it doesn't change your political inclinations.
