It's very easy to find examples where both Bushes, Clinton and Obama allegedly violated the War Powers Act.

If you think presidents are following the law then you aren't paying attention.

The War Powers Act is itself on very shaky legal ground.  To the extent it purports to contain the President's executive power as Commander-in-Chief, it disrupts the Constitutional balance of power.  It's also undercut in practice by the fact that in reality, Congress has a disturbing habit of simply writing blank checks for almost any military action the President undertakes, since there is a high political cost in failing to do so and, conversely, if it goes badly, they can then simply blame the President.  There are no bonuses for standing up to the President on these issues.

Reminds me of the Anon march where they hooked up with BLM whilst the other Anons spammed BLM with racism to make them think the other Anons were out to get them. Thus when the Anons trying to support them showed up, they were assaulted and their lives endangered. They adopted Anonymous as a namecard completely forgetting what the fuck anonymous literally means. It means no name, no individuality, nothing remarkable, and it's completely self-defeating then to go about announcing yourself, announcing your intentions, using your name, using anything that can be linked to your name, or god forbid, prancing about in real life with an Anon identity. Look at it this way, by wearing a gay fawkes mask that gives royalties to global multinational corporations (really sticking it to the power) made in some South American sweatshop, you're not being anonymous, you're being extremely noticeable and extremely outstanding.

Anon was never a thing for protests, it was just an organized trolling effort. It started with /i/ guys raiding habbo hotel and fucking club penglin, gaia and such games by gathering +20 something anons and having them all create tuxedo wearing black characters with afros and trolling shit. Chanology was just an organized trolling effort gone viral because scientology was the perfect target, and later got taken over by people that actualy thought it was some sort of protest. Nowadays anon is used as a catch all term for edgy dweebs with guy fawkes masks doing hacktivism and etc.

The point is, nothing was created to combat scientology, anons trolling scientology is what turned anons into capital A Anonymoose. Killed them dead, allowed the weak to be replaced by the strong; now anons don't make habbo pools close, now they make memes into Presidents, to whatever end you believe they influence anything. Certainly Clinton should not have given them so much power, the primordial rule of the internet is porn, the second primordial rule of the internet is to not feed the troll - a lesson lost in time.

From what I've personally seen on most chans/related places lately, more of those guys are pro-Trump than not.

I don't think many people other than idiots have been unironically Anonymous since 2008 or so.

I get it, he's trying to be tough, but threatening to invade is seriously NOT something you swing around lightly. ESPECIALLY with someone who is both our neighbor and have generally great relations with.

Also, wouldn't he have had staffers (especially State Department staffers) around to moderate him or at least advise on what to say? Though I think he'll absolutely have to now since he freaking used the threat of force (though at the cartels most likely, but still, a threat is a threat) against a freaking ally.

Yes, I get that Mexico is less than an ally in Trump's eyes, but still!

Trying that with someone who actually doesn't like us could spark a war for real.

Ah. Yeah, I really wasn't paying much attention to those things at the time. Mostly just overheard things on the news; this was before I actually really went on any internet community that discussed politics.

I remember it quite well. Mainly since it was one of the first times I saw over-intepreted memes and journalists making fools of themselves on the evening news and said "Oh, dear Lord, the fucking internet is leaking..."
