Do we still have castration as a legal punishment on the books? Because I feel putting the entire future of the nation in jeopardy to get your dick wet qualifies.

Just like the stimulus check was good for, what, about a month for the below average American family's rent and cost of living, what the hell is $200 going to do for Medicare recipients? About a month's supply of what they need, if that?

It's like Trump thinks no one knows what their own bills are and are just gonna go "WWOOOOOO FREE MONEY THANKS GENERALISIMO DONALDE!"

It was a effective tool in Tropico before an election to tip the scales a bit in your favour.

Cal Cunningham is now actually being investigated by the Army Reserve.

FUCKING. DEMOCRATS.
While I agree with the latter sentiment, fucking around obviously doesn't disqualify anyone from the highest office in the land.  Let's not buy into the conservative narrative and enforce some purity standard.  It's super hypocritical of them, and not policy.

Democrats sure hate winning, but the right doesn't *need* ammo to smear them.  They just make shit up, we know this.

Apparently Mitch McConnell has criticized Trump’s handling of covid-19, though only as it pertains to the White House.

Just a reminder in mind that if you're in the military, there's actually rules against adultery and punishment to go with that. Uncommonly even imprisonment for up to 1 year.

It's not just a "He did something that looks bad from a PR perspective." It's a "He did something that might send him to jail if they decide to throw the book at him."

If a single one of my Christian associates tries to complain about a democrat governors sexual misconduct I'm going to flip my wig about all the stuff they ignore about Trump.

@Dunamisdeos: Senate candidate, not Governor. Our Gov seems like a pretty folksy, straight-laced guy. Then again, the NC Dems have had a pretty poor track record over the last decade or two (John Edwards' cheating on his dying wife, Gov. Mike Easley's conviction post-office, Gov. Bev Perdue's general uselessness...)

One guy to keep an eye on to hopefully break the trend is State Senator Jeff Jackson. Dude has built a very solid online following that extends well beyond his district, and has a great sense of humor. After the Presidential debate, he unveiled his new campaign slogan: "Jeff Jackson - Not A Train Wreck". A *lot* of people would love to see him run for Richard Burr's seat in 2022.

The reason for this (in addition to the usual moralistic stuff) is that any major secret (such as adultery) makes you vulnerable to blackmail, and a popular method of espionage is to have an attractive young agent hook up with somebody who's a little older and potentially in need of an ego boost who might know something.

Yeah, I don't think MSH was being a moral scold, more like a fan screaming at the TV when the running back makes an unforced fumble at the 1-yard line. Because he was trying to carry the ball with his dick.
Yeah that's fair enough.  For all they talk about "playing the game" rather than pursuing policy objectives, I guess it's reasonable to scream at them for literally fucking up.

Also what Lord Shonus said.  Having sexual blackmail on a high official is bad for a nation.  Almost as bad as that official having enormous debt to unknown creditors, or... sexual blackmail against them.

I hate how trendy it has become lately for politicians to describe people as beautiful. As if a person's aesthetic appearance somehow makes them more important than all those gross uggoes who don't really matter anyway.

I am.  A person's worth is situational, not a single amount.  Aesthetic beauty is even more situational, based partly but not entirely on social norms.

Knowledge, skill and physical aptitude are situationaly useful for solving problems.  Owning property is useful for feeding the proletariat.  It's all situational.

Most of the time when I hear someone calling someone else "beautiful" it means "beautiful as a person," or at least I take it to mean that.

Actually no, I am morally condemning Cal Cunningham for being a treacherous fucker. That goes part and parcel with him quite possibly dooming our future to get his dick wet.

This is what the fucking Republicans have done to us. We're stuck with bastards like Cunningham because we can't dare to ask better or a Christian fascist replaces them. We're stuck with governors doing blackface, cops mocking the tread-upon, and old segregationists because we can't stop for even a fucking moment and aspire to something better without the Republicans taking advantage of it. We can't even propose good policy because the Republicans would be upset about it.

What Cunningham did was fucking awful. Him for putting us all in danger, the chick for knowing damn well how important the campaign she was working on was and fucking blabbing this about it anyway, and both of the assholes for betraying their spouses. This isn't the fucking 50s. If you're out with your spouse, then you divorce. And it's not about braindead religious idealism or societal stability, it's about keeping your word.

But we can't have that, now can we? Vote Blue No Matter Who, right? It doesn't even matter how someone with a D next to their name treats other people, because the ones with an R did worse. So shut up and do as you're told, unless you'd like to end up in Jesus Death Camp a decade down the line?

Fuck these people. And fuck the Democratic Party. No matter how hard the lesson gets beaten into them, they never learn a single goddamn thing. And I just know deep down how it's going to come around again if Biden manages to not get the election stolen out from under him, when we're stuck in the downward spiral of the climate crisis and blaming China or Iran or whoever-the-fuck and the scum who are my countrymen just eat it up 60-30 because the Republicans are real good on economy, you know? I don't want my taxes raised.

Fucking disgusting.
