Firstly, on topic, I wonder if these shootings could affect gun-control candidates in the midterms?

Secondly, I feel like there's gotta be a story behind this one. Like, was the gunman's wife fooling around with the yoga teacher?

It would be quite interesting indeed if it makes it to trial. There really is some pretty damning evidence that government officials have been routinely briefed about climate change for a very extended period, and that the government's policy has been to just ignore it.  Finding the fed culpable would be almost hilarious.

I mean, it's pretty obvious  that the fed is culpable, IMO. Anything less than the most zealous and thorough attack on climate change is basically being complicit with the destruction of the world.

If you note, their main concern was basically along the lines of "But if it goes to trial, and we get found guilty, we would actually have to decide in favor of climate change, and not dick around until the planet dies in the senate! (Like GOD intended!)  This is an end-run around proper procedure (that we have hemmed up in permanent inaction!)"

Which is why I said it would be hilarious.
