While legally true, the amendment was passed due to FDR violating the tradition of two terms set all the way back by Washington. He only got away with it as long as he did due to the exceptional political fortune of the New Deal Coalition.

And the Supreme Court can't overturn an amendment. Much as they've stretched their logic at times, there's no way anybody but a total patsy would say the 22nd doesn't prohibit more terms. Amendments are only overturned by other amendments.

Not sure if you were being sarcastic here, but in case you weren't, Obama got plenty of criticism for his Jonas drone joke, from the left and right.

It's interesting/worrying that the reaction from a lot of Democrats back then was "Come on guys, you know we'd all be pissed if Bush made this joke," and now liberals are handwringing over whether we should be offended at Trump making a similar joke because it might make us look partisan. Guess we underestimated how low of a standard we're willing to hold Republicans to.
