I still hold by that the US government has a LONG tradition of violence against peaceful protesters, when those protesters are protesting something that either the government is doing, or supports.
The Smithsonian even has a fucking exhibit about it.

Let's just say that if the citizens of LA were to protest the ICE actions there, it would turn very nasty very quickly, as the ICE would call in a federal goon squad, and start "Dispersing" people.
