Inspirations were actual Vikings mixed with Elder Scrolls Nords.

Lemme get ya some raws...

Tough to say without knowing more of what you envision them as. Since they're above ground dark elves, it suggests something fairly different.

By "their themes", I meant the other races, including the Dark Elves.

Icedwellers: Viking/Nordic people who learned how to make steel from their allies, the dwarves.

Dunemen: Arabs, basically.

Hellspawn: Cursed humans now resembling a demonic entity.

Corrupt Dwarves: A race of dwarves that dug too deep and were corrupted by demonic power, making them look like goblins mixed with dwarves.

Dark Elves: Appearance wise, they look like Mystara's (D&D setting) Shadow Elves. They are known for their hatred of the other elves' tendency of eating the bodies of the fallen.

Hobgoblins: A human-sized subrace of goblins that have different metals for their coins. They also know how to make steel. Actually not evil, but just greedy.

Monitor Lizard Men: These beastial folk will steal, siege, ambush, and baby-snatch in order to claim domination over the world.

I always liked the idea of having a race of very small people with super strength, like Terry Pratchett's Nac Mac Feagle, or Atelier Iris' brownies (a knee-high dwarf-like thing that carries a hammer as big as it is).  A "puck" or a "leprechaun" might fit the bill.  But I'm not sure if you could really do that in DF, since size impacts combat calculations. 

In Furry Fortress 2, for bearded axes, I think they have less material cost and more velocity, since they are like any other axe, but lighter.  For certain kinds of bearded axe, you could add a stab attack for the "beak", something they used to do in close combat.

Alright, i did some work, and i feel like we oughtta stick mmore to fantasy vikings, cuz it gives a bit more leeway. I would give them a high beard and other hair tendency - they live in the cold, so body hair keeps you a bit warmer. The beard is a must. I would also say that you should make them have primarily pale skin and green eyes. They should be raiders AND traders - is it possible to make them not farm? They should have a NATURAL fishing skill, its very important, as Vikings - and Icedwellers as a result - had very infertile land, so they HAD to raid to feed their families, but they were known to trade, and fishing was, of course, a very common trade among them. So the arrival of icedwellers either signifies an attack on your fortress, or a bunch of dudes trying to sell you weapons and fish. They culturally value martial and skill prowess, knowledge isnt such a high priority when you have difficulty even survivng, so it generally won't be too high on their priorities, they appreciate sacrifice, they find politeness and ettiquite unimportant, they have a high tendency to make merry, love AND hate - they make great friends, and awful enemies, and if you screw them over, they have a high tendency to revenge. They are not CRUEL - they expect that Hel will handle all of the torment. They wear leather armor primarily, because where they live, plate would get too cold - they need thick hides, and leather is an appropriate type of wear for them. They might wear metal helmets, if they can have leather underneath. They also should have Steel weapons - as raiders, they need to equip themselves well. I would actually also give them a slightly higher move speed - they run in quickly with a lightweight Steel Bearded Axe and go in for the kill. They also believe in justice, and are rather adventurous. Tamed beasts should include giant wolves, which raiders have been known to ride, and they should build villages as their settlements. Also they mature faster than others - since it is difficult living in the frozen wastes, everyone needs to help, even those which other civs might consider children have been forced to become mature faster, and even 9 year olds are considered adults, with adult responsibilities as warriors and such. Trading should, as i said, include steel weapons, fish, and leather armor.

You can do this, to some extent, by giving them maximum (5000) average physical and mental stats.  I made cat-sized creatures that could regularly take down human-sized and even larger opponents, without any training or special abilities.

Have you ever seen Pathfinder's Inner Sea campaign world?  The idea of Fantasy Vikings reminds me of their Land of the Linnorm Kings and Realm of the Mammoth Lords. 

Reading through some of their campaign settings might help you solidify your own ideas. 

The book is prettier, but the wiki has most of the information available if you know what you're looking for.

Im mainly a D&D Forgotten Realms guy myself(tho Ebberon is fire too), but im pretty well versed in both fantasy and real vikings - thx for the resource tho, i might check it out latah!
