Question: Does an army require their full movement available to move over a mountain pass, or does it simply consume all remaining movement (in the case of railroads)?

It consumes full movement unless you have Advanced Engineering researched, then with railroads they're threated like any other border.

I was mostly wondering if it's possible to move one space due to railroads and then finish nice through a mountain pass. I'll take that as a 'no, you must be next to pass at start of turn to cross it before the tech is researched' until told otherwise.

Only a little bitter over Florence (I only have three armies to distribute at the start, damnit, what am I supposed to do?). >.> It'a probably what I would d o some in France's situation.

Still, who would've thought France would be the aggressor. Guess Napoleonic ambitions don't die easily.

Yeh, without Adv.Eng you need to park by mountains first and move through on next Turn.

Also should've kept a fleet on Tyrrhenian side of peninsula, it's not like Austria was going to invade you through sea with, y'know, no ships v;

I was trying to use my fleets as pseudo-armies in their ports to be some sort of defense >. <

I forget, can you make conditional attack orders based on whether or not a province has been taken by previous armies in your turn? I'm guessing no, right?

If two nations are at peace, and one convoys an invasion army through a sea territory the other guy has a fleet in, will the defender's fleet attempt automatically engage the aggressors fleet (due to the invasion ceing an act of war) and if so, will it trigger before or after the invading army lands?

Enemy fleets automatically begin fighting as declarations of war, declared or not, are instantenous; therefore any invasion plans will trigger a War before any armies are moved v:

Armies can continue moving via railroads through enemy or formerly enemy territory (as long as such is not destroyed), right?

Question with more direct relevance: Can an army use railroads to move one province away and then back to it's original province?

Enemy territory gets captured and the army finishes its move there.

Right, but, say, one army moves to enemy territory, and then another army moves there and then back to original territory. Or one army captures enemy territory, finishes move, then next army moves through to next enemy territory.

Sorry for being annoying, I'm just trying to find ways to handle this that don't have high chances of either hard loss (losing capital) or soft loss (France has +2HQ advantage on me as well as secured territory directly next to capital) by turn two. >. <

But if enemy territory gets captured, then its no longer enemy but yours, so you would be moving your army back and forth for no gain really v:?

Or one army captures enemy territory, finishes move, then next army moves through to next enemy territory.

Possible, Kashyyk did that against Austria v:
