"Hang on! I remember one of those guards speaking of an assassination attempt. If that's true, the last thing we want is to be framed for his death if you end up going through with that."

The woman broke out into a smile.
: "Good! Some proper manners for once. My name is Lian-Ziu, of Ostil. The feeling is mutual, miss Seaiga."
On hearing Simon's objection however, her smile briefly faded to a more serious glare, before twisting back into a smirk- a slight chuckle escaped her mouth.
: "Ahah- It seems my reputation had preceded me when I had been discovered by the guards. I assure you, my bow was only with me as a tool to assist my escape if truly necessary. Not that I expect the garrison to understand that; it has been responsible for swift deaths many times over. My objective here has nothing to do with taking lives."

[SOLDIER First]

"Okay, great. Now let's go see old man Frealde before someone else gets a spear through the gut, huh?"

[Swordstar]

""Well, I think one of us must have your bow, Miss Lian. It is ok that I just call you that, right? And that's Caius. He's always grumpy, so don't take it personally."

[SOLDIER First]

"Sea, please don't turn the new people against me like that. It makes me even more-- _{wait, shit..."}

Eric was busy holding the hall, but heard some of what was going on. "Why does it sound like you people are picking up strays again?"

[SOLDIER First]

"You let us keep Dale."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Dale ignored that and spoke to Eric.

  "Because we are, seems like. Some woman trying to take ol' Dale's job of being the smart-ass archer of the group."

He turned to Lian.

  "I figure Drest here's got your bow. I prefer shortbows and I had both of mine before we came here."

[Sirus]

Hoho! The newcomer was every bit as lovely as her voice had made her seem. He produced a rose from thin air and offered it to Lian-Ziu.

: "Thankfully, we are not all grumpy. I am certain that you will be a welcome addition to the team, mademoiselle, should you choose to fight alongside us."

[GiglameshDespair]

Quetzie looked the pale woman up and down.
"I am Quetzalxochitl, of Textitlan."

Dale ignored that and spoke to Eric.

  "Because we are, seems like. Some woman trying to take ol' Dale's job of being the smart-ass archer of the group."

"I was not aware job was taken already."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Dale just waved Quetz off.

  "We'll talk about what I mean later, ma'am."

[Caellath]

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Lian-Ziu. I am Drest, and I believe I have your apprehended equipment." the shaman commented, showing the longbow and quiver he'd gotten from one of the guards.

"As you might notice we are in the company of Lady Frealde and her twin sister. The guards refused to allow our peaceful passage despite that and we are knocking them out on our way to rescuing our employer."

[Felissan]

It sounded like Lord Frealde would be dead by then if that was what she wanted. Simon was still going to keep an eye on Lian-Ziu for a while.

"Sorry about what I said, I guess we can trust you for now. I'm Simon. And to clarify, I'm pretty sure I'm not one of the grumpy guys."

[SOLDIER First]

Caius' remaining eye twitches concerningly.
