Gilbert clutched at his chest in not-entirely-feigned pain.

"You two, you wound poor Gilbert so terribly! Were I not distracted by the unfolding drama your blows would render me, how you say, catatonic."

[Twinwolf]

"Last time I checked, I didn't have a twin!" Wynne responds to be being poked in the face by Seaiga (who *really* shouldn't have gotten that close when there were still armed soldiers). "Ma never said anything 'bout a twin at least!"

[I_Like_Pi]

"Try me, ruffian. You'll find yourself outmatched in a fair fight."

Santero placed his hand on his sword and made a point of meeting Dale's gaze as he began to approach the mounted archer.

Victoria, on the other hand, was fairing much worse than the commander. The overall chaos of the situation wasn't doing her any favors either.

"EVERYONE SHUT-" she was interrupted by Seaiga poking her cheek. She turned to look at whoever had dared touch her. When she saw Seaiga she just stared at her like she was the most amazing thing she had ever seen. She took one last look at Wynne before releasing her twin from her grip and turned her attention to Santero, who had stopped in his tracks.

"You knew! You knew that I had a sister but you never told me!"

"Until I saw her there was no doubt in my mind you were Victor's only daughter."

"Lair. You knew."

"Victoria I-"

"Don't speak to me," she cut him off. She turned to what was left of her guards. "All of you stand down. I'm going to confront my father and I'm taking my sister with me. The rest of them can go rescue their leader or flee, I don't care which."

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Get bent. She works with us, you aren't just taking her places. I refuse to have to explain it to our employer."

[SOLDIER First]

". . . . ."

". . . Someone fucking pinch me."

[Swordstar]

Sea reached over and pinched Caius as hard as she could.

"There! Did that help?"

[SOLDIER First]

Caius recoils from the pinch, and then his face breaks into a smile that is frighteningly Un-Caius. Then he starts laughing.

"Ow! Yes, it did. So much. Oh, my god. I'm not dreaming. In that case..."

"I am marching my ass home. Bye! I'll see you all when you get there! Have fun with whatever this is!"

Caius immediately whirls around and begins walking back the way everyone came with a spring in his step.

[Swordstar]

Blinking in confusion, Sea reached out and grabbed Caius's arm.

"Wait why are you leaving? We need time go get Master Sybil and Wynne needs to meet her father and then we need to keep going to our destination. You can't leave yet."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Try me, ruffian. You'll find yourself outmatched in a fair fight."

Dale just grinned.

  "After I get done with this job maybe I'll come back here just to take you up on that."

He seemed equally amused by Caius's attempt to leave, but said nothing, instead choosing to just watch.

[SOLDIER First]

"Nope! Victoria said I can leave and I'm leaving. I don't trust these people half as far as you can throw a pegasus, so even with every single god blasting us with their divine grace at once or whatever the hell you want to call this coincidence of coincidences I don't think the peace will last five minutes."

[Chevaleresse]

"Yeah, I have a sister. I haven't seen her in a long time, but I've got one.

Anyway, leave if ya want. I need this cash and I'm in deep enough as-is. Illegal magic user 'n all, I doubt I'm gonna get far."

[I_Like_Pi]

"You're welcome to come with if you must then. Though I'd thought securing your money would be much more important to you mercenaries."

[Swordstar]

Sea refused to let go of his arm.

"You signed a contract with Master Sybil and she's inside. You don't get to leave just because you're unhappy. Besides... You don't want Master Sybil angry with you..."

[Chevaleresse]

"Hell yeah it is! Are you joking? Do you know how long I can live on that kind of money?"

[SOLDIER First]

"Yeah, and the contract said I can break it whenever I want. I just won't be paid. But who cares? If it turns out one of our friends is the long-lost illegitimate twin sister of our current sworn enemy, anything can happen. Maybe my eye will even start working again."
