"And it is a pleasure to meet you two, name's Brant. Folks call me 'One-Eyed-Danger', and I am sure you can tell why."
Brant pointed a single finger towards his own face before lowering it.

“What.”

"Yes?"

[SOLDIER First]

”...How'd you lose it?"

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Fire mages."

[SOLDIER First]

Caius nods and points to his own injury.

”Sword."

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Yeah, it is usually the pointy ones that do this. Unfortunately as you can see fire didn't just make me lose an eye, and I couldn't find a healer in time."

[SOLDIER First]

”Ah, that really sucks. I had a healer nearby, but... She wasn't very good. Still have the eye, it just doesn't work."

[Praefectus Screptum]

"As long as she helped to ease the pain, it is better than nothing. Going solo is always a gamble because of this, which is why you gotta learn how to dodge...A lot."

[SOLDIER First]

”I'm not really much of a... solo guy. It's hard to go out on your own when your best and only means of defense are either a heavy metal stick or convincing people not to kill you because you're more useful alive than dead... And I can't even do the latter in this fucking country, so I'm going to be sticking with my group for a while to come."

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Ah. So you are the healer of this group."
"Yes, in your situation it might be better to stick with a group. And considering things are going to change very soon, you should stay with this group in specific as I doubt this country is going to crumble down so easily."

[SOLDIER First]

”Well, Gilbert too." Caius jerks his thumb at said Weird Foreign Language User. ”And he's got his crossbow. _{Wish I had a crossbow."}

”Oh, yeah. Definitely. I have no intention of leaving until I get my money. Drest, the guy in the mask, said he'd try and help me learn to use tomes, too. I figure if I'm already priority target number one because I can CURE WOUNDS WITH A FANCY STICK" - here his voice takes on a sudden and unexpected degree of intensity, which Caius seems to cure with a large sigh - ”I might as well go the extra mile and start using less passive magic."

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Two healers? Now that's effective.."
Brant crossed his arms on top of the hilt of the brand-new sword he took from the pile of supplies to support himself for now.
"Yes, I think you probably should try to learn how to use a weapon, or at least use your magic to do more than just heal others. I do intend to learn how to use axes at some point...You know, to chop off some lances, it is never too late to learn something new."

Ava didn't seem to quite know how to respond, taking several moments to reply.
"You're going to force me to take that compliment, aren't you?"

[Caellath]

"Yes." he replied, followed by Fael adding his opinion on the matter: "Meow."

[SOLDIER First]

”Uh huh. I tried to use a sword myself once. It could have turned out better. But I picked up a staff instead, and now here I am."
