"What'd you need in for?" The street rat evidently wasn't satisfied with that explanation.

The minstrel could hear the faint sounds of a woman's voice on the other side of the door. Clearly, he had to begin moving in that direction in order to meet the voice's owner.

"Several reasons which would be a bore to explain, especially to someone who won't deign to speak face to face." The sound of footfalls could be heard behind the door, akin to pacing, "I will only say that it regards a certain Sybil Hallewell and an investigation into a certain Lord Frealde."

[SOLDIER First]

"Urgh... Thanks. _{Damn, I'm just glad Ron can't see me right now."}

[Sirus]

: "Hm? Who is this 'Ron' you speak of?"

[SOLDIER First]

"Uh, an old friend. Used to get knocked on his ass a lot, but I think I've broken his record already..."

"Cagey one, eh? Whatever, we'll sort it out pretty quick in a second."

After the door is unlocked, Drest's attention is immediately upon the freed prisoner.

"Hello, fellow intruder. What is this matter about Sybil you mentioned? Details matter."

[CrimsonEon]

As the door creaked open, a woman draped in red and pale of skin stood on the other side, wearing an irritated look.
: "'Twas not so difficult a task to speak properly, was it? I trust your deft hands are not hurt by that exertion of effort?"
Her gaze drew back to the door and those on the other side. The woman's face briefly flickered a mote of amusement.
: "Quite the motley crew. Not surprising." She mused for only a moment before answering Drest's question, "It may come as a disappointment that I cannot attest to any direct affiliation to Miss Sybil. However, I have a vested interest in keeping an eye on the lord of this manor, and your contractor's... involvement here presented an opportunity upon which I sought to capitalize."

That was inconclusive. Now, what was she? She didn't seem like a fancy robber, and her interest in the manor's lord... Maybe an even fancier burglar, of the type that stole documents and other sensitive items. There were a few possibilities.

"Whatever your objectives may be, it seems your timing was well-picked. Maybe it would have been better had you chose to invade after our appearance. Then again, I hardly believe you knew we were coming... And maybe our presence could be a problem."

"In any case, are you on your way out or do you still intend to push forward with whatever it is you originally wanted to do?"

The woman laughed dryly, a note of bitterness directed at herself.
: "Well-picked indeed. But to move after your appearance was not an option. Indeed, to see Sybil's hirelings making their way here so suddenly necessitated a mote of haste."
: "Such as it is, one capture alone is no deterrent. I understand your master is in a similar predicament. Seeing as how I hold no issue with force, I am willing to lend my assistance in freeing her. I may lend my peerless archery and I believe my bow was in the hands of the brutes you-..." Her eyes moved past the group, looking down at the guards littering the floor, "-..hm. I would have said 'disposed of', but it seems you have a modicum of mercy."

[SOLDIER First]

"Oh, sure, you're welcome. Any time. Seems to be what we do now."

"Wait, do you know where Master Sybil is? Can you take me to her?"

[CrimsonEon]

The woman continued on, paying no mind to Caius' grumblings.
: "Unfortunately, I cannot attest to exactly where she is. However, I do know the layout of this manor and can direct you to where she might be held."
