"Is it a crime ta have 'em just in case? She used them 'cause ya locked my sister out and didn't give 'er a key. Daughter o' yer lord really should be told 'bout that before ya lock the door, shouldn't she?"

"Eh, you have a point. So you probably aren't this woman's ally. You and Lady Victoria can go ahead, but your guards stay here."

"That might turn out to be the case. Say Ava, did you begin studying the books I lent you?" Drest asked, making small talk while they waited for the resolution of the current problem.

"...Any particular problem with letting 'em through? I'd rather not leave 'em, and if Victoria's alright with it then ain't her word good enough?"

Wynne probably could have let it drop, but she had a bad feeling about this place. She glanced at Victoria.

"A bit. There hasn't been a lot of time to read 'em, and, um, how do I say it, I'm not really that great of a reader to start."

"There isn't any reason why you'd need guards. If we let you through Gage'll let you through. They can wait here."

Sea couldn't see anything but she could hear the discussion about someone else being locked in a room and hopefully it was Master Sybil so that they could rescue her.

"Master Sybil? As in Hallewell... Wait, you're from that village a few days ago! These are the witch's mercenaries! Stop them!"

"So you really did join up with the witch Lady Victoria... What a shame."

Victoria sighed but still readied her sword. She had expected this.

"Please refrain from killing them."
