Eric made a wretched noise as he managed to unclog his throat, and casually flipped Caius the bird.

[SOLDIER First]

"Not interested, but thanks for the offer."

[Chevaleresse]

"Aw, Caius, that was almost romantic."

[SOLDIER First]

"Ah, damn. I was hoping for at least 'a little'."

[Chevaleresse]

"I'm not really the one to ask."

[SOLDIER First]

"I am not asking Zeel Bare."

[SeriousConcentrate]

  "So we know Eric is interested in Sea and now Caius and Ava are flirting. Gilbert had better get on top of things or he's going to miss the boat on Wynne or Quetz."

[Chevaleresse]

"I literally haven't done anything but insult him since I met him."

[SeriousConcentrate]

  "Yeah, but you're a tomboy type, know what I mean?"

Dale was clearly amused at all of this.

[SOLDIER First]

"Dale, if you say that to me again, I will forcibly cheer myself up using this staff and any one of your orifices. Really, I'm not fussy where I stick this thing."

"We- I- am not flirting."

[SeriousConcentrate]

  "Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really into staffs."

  "I bet Ava is though."

And with that Dale promptly rolled out of the chair and onto his feet, making the universal 'come at me bro' hand gesture at Caius, still wearing the same easy grin.

[SOLDIER First]

". . . . ."

Wordlessly, Caius holds out his Tiena staff to Ava.

"Ava, help me beat Dale up."

[SeriousConcentrate]

  "Two on one?"

  "One thing you need to know, good ol' Dale is not as nice a guy as you might think he is. Know what I mean?"

Sea had managed to fall asleep using the table as a pillow after her conversation with Eric had trailed off. The current commotion managed to stir her awake though, and she looked up.

"Huh, uhm *yaaaawn* Is everything ok? Did something happen?"

[Chevaleresse]

"Talk about me like that again and you'll see just what happens to your 'staff,' Dale." She - somewhat more irritably than strictly necessary - swipes the Tiena from Caius.
