So I played in patch .34 and now I'm back. In the 0.34 there was a way to generate steels without having iron ore using the melt and forge exploit system, now I saw that they patched it. The problem is that I'm embarked in a map with only silver ores in the first z levels and I cant create picks and good weapons. There is a way to find a good number of metals? Or I have to embark again and hoping for iron ores map?

Turn the silver ores into silver crafts and weapons, then sell to the caravan for the iron, bronze, steel, and similar goods.  If you don't like the state they are in, smelt them down and make new things.

Nope, hasn't been patched to my knowledge, spiked balls/leggings still give more metal than they take to produce in 43.05. Blue spoiler does use several times the amount of products on most goods, but it's just that, and still producible via coin remelting (either with or without trading) or by bolt-splitting and melting.

Also, silver is weapon-grade material, so you can make picks (mining only tho), maces and hammers with it. For sharp and armor, there should be some blue spoiler on typical embarks.

Goblinite is a good source of metal, but it takes a while for them to donate even when not engaged elsewhere, given the default pop limit of 80.
