So I'm playing Masterwork and it adds many more types of slabs than just "Secrets of life and death" ones. I wanted to find one that was described as "lost" in a particular site. I was certain it would be somewhere there, but I can't find it anywhere.

Does the "was lost in ....." descryption mean it's effectively removed from the game or can I find it? If I can does anyone have any tips on finding them? (dfhack or otherwise)

Tracking it down is a pain, they might be sitting in a sewer somewhere, laying in a field, stuck underground in a wall, or floating in limbo.

You can find the item id of your backpack and the slab (gui/gm-editor df.global.world.items.all and look through the item_slabst entries to figure out which is which) and add under general_refs a general_ref_contained_in_itemst and general_ref_contains_itemst with the appropriate links, that'll put it in your backpack. Easier to just fake up a slab and gm-editor the inscription type to the relevant secret.

Thank you for the reply. I'll try to search for it a bit, but I don't think it's that important to find it. Might spawn in one just to see what it does.

Also, I think my legends mode wants me dead. The pop for the cave the slab was supposed to be in was some 20 gobs and a couple of critters. It deffinately did NOT mention a GCS and 2 clowns!

Edit: If I can ask another question. If the legens mode states a necromancer hid a slab in a hamlet and was then chased out would the slab be in the hamlet or with the necromancer? He was a duke when he got kicked out.

Edit2: It seems they stay on the site and not always in the keep. Got one where somebody stored the slab in a hamlet and died. The slab was in a random empty house.
