Keep on building with Joshua. Only four more turns. Then we can start all over again with the next build project. Yessir, just endless posts of "keep building" in our future. Is this hell? Is this insanity? Who knows.

In my case I think its more of a "There is no fate but armor"

Can I see one of them having water flow through it?  Or passing through solid matter?  Do I think these things are material?

Oh, and how much knowledge to have an ability to store knowledge without a goal?  You know, as a pool or something for use with another ability later.

Bargthor-47
Well, they're still coming down towards the ground so you're not really sure, but they look pretty solid. In fact they seem to be encapsulated in a sort of wispy white stuff, like spider web or something. As though the glowing ball is being lowered down from above on a line.

No.

actualy, my character is supposed to be female, on an unrelated note, I'll add bio and description back into my regular sheet. Anyways, I'm going to see what I can spot outside of the crawler.

Ohhh Rucky Girl.

You peer out the portholes of the crawler and squint to see as much as you can of the cave beyond. You notice two very important things: First, that engineheart that was making fun of everyone is somehow already standing around in the cave and it looks like someone has gone at him with hammers. Second, there is some sort of glowing ball things descending from the roof of the cave down towards him. And, as a corollary to that last part, those glowing ball things appear as though they are being lowered down by something that is on the ceiling. It's too dark to see from this distance, but you can grasp its basic outline from the way it blocks off the glow of the other spheres in the ceiling. It is a collection of long, spindly legs, each one at least 40 feet in length, all working together to slowly lower the ball. Looking at it gives you a strange, instinctual shiver of revulsion.

Keep on building with Joshua. Only four more turns. Then we can start all over again with the next build project. Yessir, just endless posts of "keep building" in our future. Is this hell? Is this insanity? Who knows.

But seriously, if you guys want to discuss alternative ways of limiting builders so that they can't crank out 50 things a post, I'm all for hearing it.

You reach for the controls but razorblade Rede puts her hand on yours. You start to protest but she then points out both Bragthor and the things on the ceiling. You feel...a little less gungho about rushing in.

Alternatives were proposed in the ooc thread some time ago. Also recently.

Basically, if you give each builder a limited amount of buildpoints per 'mission' cycle you have a limit on how fast new stuff is cranked out. So a person could crank out a bunch of pistols all at once, but only once per mission, and then he'll have to wait before building anything else.

so there is what appears to be a giant spider on top of this cave? First, see if we can radio our discovery back to the crew of the bore. Then contemplate whether or not drilling the bore down on top of the thing seems like a legitimate strategy.

"Chitin armor anyone?"

Were we in a contest? I thought Sifeebt was merely admiring Nameless' ghastly manliness. I suppose Nameless could stare back - the dead can stare pretty well, after all.

But no! Nameless will continue to sit blankly, waiting for an opportunity to stab, collect, punch, persuade, assist, or otherwise act on behalf of the crew.

"Spider web, eh?  I wonder if something's fishing."

Look around for any cave fish or frogs or such in the river.  Or, failing that, a small rock.

Alright guys, I have an idea, but I want to know what everyone thinks about it before I do It. How about I maneuver the crawler up to the spider thing and then we see what happens. Hopefully it won't notice us if we are out of range of it's orbs.
