really done.
Wait, what's all this loot business? I'm not familiar with the concept.Glad you asked! Looter's Delight is a concept originally created by Wwolin, and imitated many times by various people. I am (as of this writing) the latest one to carry on the trend.
I'm glad to welcome you to Another Loot Experiment, or
ALE for short. This is an RTD that uses a huge custom loot generator of my own creation. As a player in this RTD, you're basically a treasure hunter. You're looking for rare and magical stuff to add to your collection. Unfortunately, there's lots of other hunters out there with the same idea as you.
What do you mean? Is there some sort of catch?Of course! The catch is that the loot is hidden away in another dimension! Luckily for you, you can get at that fancy loot by murdering your fellow man! In this special world, their death will open a portal to the
Loot Dimension just long enough for a single item to fall out. Unluckily for you, your death will have the same effect, so watch out for that.
Sure, I'd love to kill people for a chance at material reward. Sign me up!All right then, fill out this
character sheet liability waiver and we can get started. All your stats can be either a plus, a minus, or a blank.
You get one plus for free, but for every plus after that you have to put a minus in another stat. A plus increases rolls in that stat, a minus does the opposite. This game has a more strict limit on stats than most Loot games, as you can only have up to 3 pluses or minuses in a stat. In theory, this should prevent some of the more immediate extreme disparities between players.

Looks: Technically optional. You don't arrive with any items other than the clothes on your back, so don't put any here.
Stats: Remember to assign your free +
Strength: Lifting things, Carrying things, Smashing things, Brute force damaging things, etc
Endurance: Surviving things, Pain resistance, etc
Dexterity: Hitting things, Acrobatic things, Finesse force damaging things
Speed: Dodging things, Running past things, Initiative, etc
Affinity: Using magic things, Resisting magic things somewhat, etc
Luck: Pluses cause you to get better loot. Minuses cause you to get worse loot. Negative luck rolls tend to produce... interesting loot. Might modify other things too sometimes, where appropriate.
Loot Type: Positive or negative. Loot rolls are a d6. If for some reason you want a negative d6, say so here. You can't change this later. Also, this is chosen independent of other stats. Picking negative here doesn't mean you gain a point elsewhere, and vice versa.
Handedness: Left or Right. You'll technically be ambidextrous, but work with me here.
Do I start with loot?The first piece is free, as your waiver will transform into it. So, you better make sure not to lose it. The piece of loot you'll get depends on your highest skill. It won't be too great seeing as nobody died for it. Not anyone you know anyway... Anyway, if your highest skills are tied, the type will be chosen at random between them.
Are there going to be loot NPCs in this?Probably not. By all accounts that seems to be a bad idea, given what has happened in older games. Non sentient/sapient things like animals and such might make it in though...
