Nobody here knows enough about magic to assure that they don't royally fuck this up. You place yourself between the group and the magic, preparing to stop anyone who comes near.

Juniper:

Malthus only groans as his eyes begin rolling back into his head. But within your head, you hear his voice, loud and clear.

"Juniper, listen closely. If you don't do everything I say, death will be the most pleasant of what could happen to both of us.

Put your hands on my chest, and push my presence within you back into my body. Quickly! I will do everything I can to help, but you must make contact!"

You are growing colder, as if though you might freeze to death.

You begin to glimpse a future where you have a better crystal, but it goes dark before you see anything more.

Gasozein:

You got nothing. Bandages certainly won't heal burns this bad.

You roll ATHATH in the mud to help soothe the burns though.

Sayla:

Axe at the ready! Shield at the ready! Initiating psycho watching procedures!

Suddenly realise that I have a better crystal than ATHATH, and that I suddenly want him to have it for some strange reason.

Gasozein hefts his sword and stands at the ready, keeping vigilant and guarding against anything coming at the group from outside. He also takes a closer look at the dead body. Is the hole from a projectile? Is the projectile still in the head? How big is the hole? Try to decipher mechanism of injury.

"You know, maybe we should send a runner back to the ship to tell the captain what happened to his wizard. Maybe he can fix this."

Juniper:

You place your hands on Malthus's chest and push, with mind and body as one. Once you make contact, the presence rushes out of your head and into your hands, pushing with you.

Then you feel fine threads spreading from the presence to your hands, and from your hands to your mind. The lines begin to pulsate, and...

The presence bursts from your body into Malthus's which files backwards into the storm as if flung by a catapult. As you look down at your hands in shock, you can see glowing lines etched into your palms.

Lyssha:

You hear a crack of thunder as Malthus flies into the storm. As he flies away, you see that Juniper is staring at her hands. You glance over at them but see nothing. Odd.

Gasozein:

Ye Gods! This magic stuff sure is big and flashy!

Well, it's a tad large to be from a projectile. If you had to guess, you'd say that the hole was caused by some large, piercing weapon.

Saevire:

You feel odd for a second, and the power to move is suddenly restored to your body. Unfortunately, this also means that your stump is bleeding again.

Oooh, glowy lines."

Juniper immediately forgets about Malthus and investigates the etchings on her hands, looking for distinct shapes. She then parades around, proudly displaying her palms to everyone.

"Interesting. Sayla, please bandage Saevire."

Lyssha prevents anyone from attacking another teammate.

"I'm not exactly a doctor."

Sayla, rather reluctantly, begins patching up Saevire.

"Here, let me. I know a little first aid."

Assist with patching up Saevire by using a sturdy stick and a strip of cloth (like his sleeve) to make a tourniquet.

"Ouch, could someo-" He is aruptly cut off by Juniper stuffing the palm of her hand into his face. "What the-what on earth are you doing Junipe^{eeee_eeeeeeeer}." He stares at the glowing lines on her palm. "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!" He seems very fascinated by the clearly magical lines, and tries to investigate them to see what type of magic they are.
