Lyssha stares in confusion at Juniper and Gasozein before sighing and continuing her action.

Gasozein rips the open door off its hinges and sets it aside near the desk. (Or attempts to.) "Nobody burn this door."

Juniper:

Surprise! SHOCK! The doorknob works! Who would have ever throught!

Lyssha:

You gather up an armful of papers and start heaping them in the fireplace. Unfortunately, you can find neither tinderbox nor match.

Gasozein:

HRRRRRAAAAAGH!!!!!! You grab the desk, and smash it with your bear hands! You tear and break, and rip until you realize that you've torn the whole desk into a pile of woodchips!

Done with your mighty feat, you strut over to the now-open door, and tear it off its hinges. YEAH!!!

All:

The newly opened door rreveals a room full of wood, and a tinderbox. Huzzah! Unfortunately, there is a great hole in the celing, where the rain as been dumping damp on the wood and tinderbox. Less huzzah! A dark shpe can beseen looming above the hole.

Juniper immediately attempts to jump and climb out the hole in the roof, all the while calling out to the figure.

"Hello there! What are you?

Are you a living thing? Or are you a tree?

I'm talking to a tree, aren't I.

Wait! Trees are living!

Yay! I still win!"

If intuition tells me it's dangerous:
Hold Juniper and any others back.

Otherwise:
Grab the tinderbox.

Raise my shield until the shape looming over the hole is identified.

"Oh, god damn it." Gasozein sets the door aside and hefts his greatsword, standing at the ready. If combat starts, he rushes in. Otherwise, he hangs back and throws his arm across the doorway, keeping Juniper out and watching Lyssha grab the tinderbox.

Essentially, attempt to remain at the ready without making the group look hostile by having their point man be a dude in heavy armor with a greatsword. It's not a good first impression, you know?

((Gasozein has strong hands and very long apelike arms.))

((Intuition will be added to a roll if your character is trying to figure something out, or stumbles upon a possibe revelation. For example, your character is working on a puzzle, and you may roll intuition for a hint. Intuition also would work in this situation, as a bonus to a wisdom roll because you're trying to figure something out.

Also:Tomasque, you only get one support item from the ship. What'll it be?))

Juniper:

You scream and jump at the hole like an idiot. The shape, unperturbed, does nothing. It doesn't even move.

Lyssha:

[wis: 1+1+1 intuition!]

It's, uh, not moving? So that means it's not alive, right? Either way, you grab the tinderbox.

Sayla:

You raise your shield. No strange shapes getting past this girl, nosiree!

Gasozein:

You raise your sword menacingly. First impressions always matter, right?

All:

The shape continues to not move. Man, anticlimax!

Juniper peers at the figure, trying to make out details. Of course, being Juniper, she probably completely misinterprets what it actually is.
