Is Paul White or Black?

Because Black mage is better than White Mage.

Nononon, white is better. Or perhaps I played ZL too long.

Say, "There's only one person I've heard about who could get in here without waking me... I'm going to guess you want to come against the king's order's Thalia?"

You calm your racing heart, and say in a soft voice, so nobody would hear. "There is only one person who could get in here without waking me. I assume you want to come on the quest against the king's orders, Thalia?" There is a long silence. You continue to stay perfectly still, and hope that whoever was with you wasn't here to plunge a knife in your back. Finally, a woman's voice speaks. "You are very observant, but your deduction is shallow. You think of me as a petty woman who disobeys orders to get what I want?" You measured your next words carefully. "of course not. I figured you were wanting to come for the good of Sheadoria. After all, King Tybalt can not be old enough to make proper judgement calls." There was another long silence. "Do not be quick to judge someone based on their age" Thalia started. "King Tybalt II is wise beyond his years, and has done more good for this country in the 3 months he has been King than his father did during the 13 years of his reign. However, he has had to be discreet, because the aristocracy has had a knife by his neck the whole time. You don't understand how precarious the situation really is in Sheadoria. It was not the orcs that caused the downfall of our land, it was the nobles, our own people, who have crumbled this once mighty land. Those pompous bastards began taking bribes from Castralia and our other enemies in order to further their status. King Tybalt the First was blind to the problem, and did nothing while our enemies placed agents inside our very own government. Now, the Nobles have begun terrorizing the populous. I have seen some claiming bridges as their own, and charging toll to any lower class citizen to cross it. And their children have taken to the act as well, claiming to be a hero as ab excuse to ransack entire villages. It's sickening."

Thalia stopped talking for a moment, and you ask a question. "What is King Tybalt II doing to fix this?" Thalia responded quickly this time. "He already has done all he can, and at great risk. He has put all his eggs in one basket. Your quest is his best and probably last attempt at saving this kingdom. And I am coming along by the Kings orders, so you can't stop me." "What can I do to help?" You ask. "He sent you to the orcs not only to make peace, but I am to tell you that you need to gain their alliegience. You must do whatever you must to get the orc Chieftain to agree to an alliance with Sheadoria, and you must do it without word reaching the nobles of Sheadoria." It was a lot to take in in only one night, but after thinking through all the events of the past two days, it all fit together. You ask another question, "How much of this are Paul, Roshan, and Sylvester allowed to know?" Thalia replied, "Sylvester and Paul already know about the aristocracy. Roshan spends most of his days hiding in the Sheadorian forests, poaching, so I am not sure how much they know. But as for the true purpose of your mission, only tell them what is necesary. Word of our attempted alliance with the orcs would spell the end of the young King Tybalt. Now, I will be following you on your journey, but I will always be out of sight. Before I leave, are there any further questions?"

You think for what felt like a day, but finally decide that you don't have any important questions. "Surprisingly, what you told me makes everything else make more sense. I understand what must be done. Thank you." You still hadn't turned to face Thalia, so you couldn't see her movements, but after a long period of silence, you turn over, and the room was empty. You close the window, and notice the grey sky of morning slowly encroaching the darkness. You get changed into travel clothes, and head outside. Sylvester and Roshan were waiting, bags packed, and horses saddled. You went to the stables and saddled Bento, but you didn't have any bags to carry since your pockets could hold everything you wanted. The sun had just broken the distant hills when Paul came out and finally joined you. He didn't say a word, yet looked somewhat embarrassed. You did not press the issue of his tardiness. Your party left the inner wall, and traveled through the silent ghost town between the ruined outer wall, before finally coming clear of Traniel.

Your horses carefully stepped over the dead bodies that had yet to be burned or buried after the siege, and the stink of death permeated the fields you traveled through. After nearly 30 minutes of cantering, you came back to the crossroads where you met the merchants. Unfortunately, nothing of their camp was left but burning husks of debris. You took a moment to remember them, then moved on. It pained you that you had to befriend the monsters that did this, but your duty to your country was more important than any personal vendetta. The hours dragged on as you followed the gash in the landscape created by the invasion force until near dusk when you reached the official border of the orcish kingdom. There was a small encampment on the orcish sides with a dozen orcs monitoring the road into their land. Upon seeing your group, they approach and speak threateningly. "What do you think yerr doing?" Your companions look to you to respond.

"I don't believe you." The orc says to you. "Do you believe him?" The or asks to his comrades. There is a humming of dissonance among them. "We don't believe you old man. Why should we?"

You respond to his challenge with a challenge of your own. "I Don' see much reason myself... Ok, how 'bought this then since you don' beleve me why don' we make a deal? we have a wrestlin' match between one O you an' One of us, we win then You let us through no more problems or questions. we lose, an' we give ya all our cash an' turn back?" The orc stares at you for a moment, then looks at the others with you. His eyes stop on Sylvester, and he spends quite some time sizing up the behemoth before responding. "I normally wouldn't do this, but I'm bored, so I guess I accept. GOG!!" The orc screams, and from behind the campfire came the largest orc of the group. He was 8 feet tall and walked with an odd sort of swagger. "Fight me! HA!" Gog shouted at Sylvester. Standing at only 6 foot-5, Sylvester was not nearly as tall, but he was about the same size when it came to muscle. The orc you first talked to started talking again. "This is the ring. If you leave the ring, you lose. If you are pinned to the ground for one minute, you lose." He then turned to Paul, recognizing him as a mage. "And if he ever talks, or makes weird hand signs, we will kill you all. No magic. Just muscle." Sylvester pulled off his shirt, revealing his huge chest and arms. Gog, the orc, did the same. The two stood inside the makeshift ring dug in the dirt, and started circling each other. "Begin!" Screamed the  orcs in near unison.

Immediately, Gog charged right into Sylvester, swinging his arm in a mighty upercut that would likely remove a head if it hit. But Sylvester was surprisingly fast, and sidestepped the swing, and grappled God around his leg. Sylvester threw the leg up, knockig Gog off balance, before clothes-lining him in the face. The orc crashed to the ground, where Sylvester pile-drived him in the chest. The orc didn't make any noise apart from an audible *whoof* as the air went out of his mouth. Sylvester grabbed the orc by the leg, and rolled up onto his body, going for the pin immediately. Gog struggled for about 20 seconds before he freed his arm and punched Sylvester off of him. Both of the fighters got up, and got ready for a second engagement. This time, it was Sylvester who approached, but he was slow and methodical, feigning attacks and being generally unpredictable. However, during one of his feigns, Gog managed to grab Sylvester by his arm, and suplex him dangerously close to the edge of the ring. Gog tried to shove Sylvester out of the ring to end the match prematurely, but Sylvester kicked Gog in the chest and send him back while he stood up again.

The match went on for nearly thirty minutes with each person getting close to winning more times than you could count. Both fighters were extremely weary, but Sylvester was overall less wounded than Gog was. While Gog had the advantage in brute strength, Sylvester played the match smarter, scoring many small hits that over time weakened Gog to the point where he could be defeated. Both fighters were grappling each other, but Sylvester got behind Gog and put both his arms into a lock. Their legs now battled fiercely, Gog trying to stay on his feet while Sylvester tried to bring him down. After an intense match, Sylvester tripped one of Gog's legs and they both fell flat, with Sylvester on top. The minute seemed to drag on forever, but finally, the orcs conceded defeat, and grudgingly held up their end of the bargain. Gog went straight into his tent and refused to show his face, while the other orcs cleaned up the mess and told you to leave this instant. You obliged. Paul began healing Sylvester while Roshan was giddily congratulating him on his victory. Within ten minutes, everybody was saddled up and you were off once again.

For the rest of the day, the journey was uneventful. You set up camp with your backs to a river. Roshan took the first watch while everybody else turned in for the night. The day of traveling left you exhausted, and you fall into your mat and pass out. You are awoken by shouting, it was Paul. He was next to watch after Roshan, and he was waking everybody up. You grab your sword and exit your tent. Paul was muttering some magic, and suddenly, about 3 dozen creatures started glowing in the dark. They were goblins! They all understandably started freaking out when they saw they were glowing in the dark, but one of them said, "It doesn't hurt. Let's get them!" Roshan and Sylvester came out, ready to fight as well. But you were still outnumbered.

You lead the charge of your men, screaming "AHA! THEY WALKED RIGHT INTO OUR AMBUSH!" The goblins are momentarily distracted, which allows you to chop off three hads at once. At the same time, Roshan was firing multiple arrows from his bow simulaniously. Each arrow was a direct headshot between the eyes of different goblins. You had never seen him fight before, and you must say that he made a great first impression. Paul was sending flashes of lightning that arces from one goblin to the next, killing the first few in the chain, and stunning the next ones. Sylvester was going ham on those stunned goblins, smashing their faces into a pulp with each punch he threw. You only managed to kill 5 goblins yourself before the battlefield grew quiet. All the goblins were dead. "Wow-a. We're-a really over-a-powered-a" Roshan said to himself, but in the quiet of the moment, everybody heard what he said, and a chuckle rumbled through the group. You took a quick moment to look around for more attackers, but all you saw was a faint sillouette of a figure crouching out of view. You knew that was Thalia following you, but you didn't tell your comerades.

You went back to sleep until you were awakened for the final watch. You sat with your back to the fire in order to have the best view of potential attackers, but no further threats showed themselves for that night. Once morning came, everybody packed up, saddled up, and you made the final leg to the Orc stronghold of Traglimec. The fortress came into view at around midday, with it's sharp watchtowers piercing the sky and the fortress proper buried within a mountain. It takes another hour to reach the gate, but you are greeted ahead of time with siege angines and orc archers all taking aim at your party. A voice came through some metal amplification device. "Sheadorians, why have you come here?"

Say "We came here to "convince" you to stop your raids against us, but seeing as how we had to fight through a small army of goblins and wrestle a few orks just to reach your front door, you wouldn't be willing to let us in for a drink before we have to try and beat sense into your leaders heads? I have heard good things about orkish mead and it would be a shame to die before I have had a chance to try it, blast the king and this suicide mission."
