He puts a copper down on the counter and picks up the mug, which he drinks from.
"Well, I just came from brushforge after a forgotten beast wiped out most of the population. You see, the military was on patrol OUTSIDE the fortress when elves ambushed them, so we had to fend for ourselves."
He takes a swig of the mug
The elves actually came into the fortress after dispatching the military, I was at the food stockpile at the time but I could hear their screams. I peeked through the door and I saw a dwarf throw a stick through the beast's head slaying it. At that point I decided to leave.
No idea what happened to them after that.

Sulus: Ah.
You got a name?

I tend to get a little personal with my customers.
Kinda like family to me.

[Puppyguard]

"I am Peringo gloveboot. what is your name tavern keeper?"
He finishes his ale.

Sulus: Sulus Crescentcrown.

"Um, What's the story behind the rug?"
Peringo points at the mole corpse with his free hand.
"It looks like it got out of 15 weapon traps."

Sulus: Giant mole corpse.

The spinning webs strike the dwarf in the face!

Sulus: Gah!

"Agh! Darn spider!"
The peasant struggles against the webs!
The peasant breaks free!
The peasant pulls out a copper spear.
The peasant spits at the giant cave spider!
The flying spit hits the giant cave spider in the left center eye, denting it!
The peasant stabs the giant cave spider in the head with the copper spear, fracturing the skull and tearing the brain!
The giant cave spider has been struck down.
"Does this happen often?"
Peringo cuts the webs away around Sulus, but at a slow rate since he's using a spear.

Sulus: Kinda!

*starts ripping the webs off*

"What should we do with the corpse?"
After Sulus is freed Peringo pokes the giant cave spider corpse with his copper spear to make sure it is dead.

Sulus: Any meat from it?
Could cook it for patrons.

[Puppyguard]

"Well, this stuff is rather good boiled, but you gotta have the right equipment.
My spear probably won't help much."
Peringo sniffs the air.
Peringo retches
"What is that horrible smell?"
Purple mist is coming from the mole corpse.

Sulus: Miasma.
*begins pushing the giant mole corpse away*
