The Earth IV Mythos Forum Games (OOC)
« on: December 17, 2016, 04:49:05 pm »

Hello! If you're here, that means you're a player of Of Predators and Prey, or any other game I do in the main timeline of the mythos I created (of which I'll upload a new episode later on.).

Just...talk? Post your sheets. I don't know what to do here, really.

Anyway, I don't wanna start this thread off on a depressing note, but my character has literally been cut of any action, so I have nothing to do but whine and complain.

I mean, you never stated they went **back** in the carriage, only that they left it. :P

Quote
Two people, a tall man and an only slightly shorter woman, pop out of the carriage with crisp black suits and a silver tie to complement their grey undershirts. Going into the center of the village that our heroes are located at, the male turns to his partner, and after some whispering, pulls a man over with clear instructions.

And, then I got punished for having to make up stuff on the fly to roleplay, because you couldn't improvise or correct my mistake. If you can't build a scene, then roleplayers have to make things up-which can work, but you have to roll with that.

And, cutting people out of the action is the worst thing you can do in an RPG. That's the whole reason we're here. You should never have a player sitting on the sidelines unless they specifically put themselves there.

Anyway, I'm removing myself from the game now. No hard feelings, but I need a game with a little more room for creativity. I'll quietly pop out of the game without bothering anyone anymore. Laters!

I'm sorry. I am so sorry that I messed up. I'm sorry I forgot. I'm sorry I have a terrible memory. I didn't mean to alienate you. If I had just looked back to where the characters were, and if I had tried to mention you and what you were doing, then this wouldn't happen. I guess this is goodbye, then? In which case, then go ahead. I won't stop you. I can't stop you. I'm the one who couldn't write a scene properly.

I just wish you would have fixed it in the turn. :P Rather than cutting me out. Seems there was obviously a disconnect between my perception and your reality. That makes my character a lunatic! It's very difficult for me to play a lunatic.

You just have a bit more nimble-a simple thing like,

"The Agents shoot each other an annoyed and familiar glance between one another at the request, before reaching into coats, pulling and displaying their Monster Bureau badges prominently-on a bed of red velvet, behind a pane of clear glass, two small silver longswords are crossed resolutely over a woodcutting of Europe, with a point of ruby blood on the tip of each blade-below that, a pair of stone wings flank the letters 'ISRD' in bright sapphire-standing, for the Intelligence Survey and Research Division.

Thus satisfied, you all head into the carriage."

Would have worked. It wouldn't have cost anything to assume they actually did wait outside, since you never stated that. You could correct both our mistakes in one move.

...

Btw, your game isn't BAD (I actually was really enjoying the concept), and you have nothing to be sorry about. I'm just really picky about games, the little things really bother me, and I feel in the long run this game is suited for other players more.

Here's my perspective.

I totally don't get it. Any of it.

Carriage arrives. I say they are right on time, and head for them.

Identification debate ensues, what!? Who is really ignored? Ha ha.

You trusted me enough to meet there, but not when the people I've been waiting for and go sit with arrive.

Really, the whole discussion is trying to make me seem like a crazy person I would think.

As someone who's picky about a lot of things, that makes sense.  :D

But seriously, I really wish I did fix it before you decided to leave. Still, what's done is done. I have ideas for games in the near-far future (I'm very ambitious.) Maybe now that this experience happened, my next project can appeal to you more, and I can make it better for everyone involved.  :)

(^no, rpers)

I feel that when the guy that gathered everyone up, basically says, there's the guys that I planned to pick us up coming right on time as scheduled. That would end the debate. Dead.

So while I can respect whatever choice you choose to make and you are as far as I'm concerned very welcome to come back. If you leave I cannot respect the reason that you're providing. Because it's hypocritical and empty.

Greatness has provided a pretty deep world with much more thought than I am usually able to see in a forum like this. So cheers to him on that one.

No conflict. :P It doesn't really matter.

...

Honestly, I left so quickly because I don't want to slow the game down. It saps the will of a GM to know a player dropped out, and it's worse the longer you have it on mind. At some point, the discussion we're having going to take away from the game, and I do not want that because I really will enjoy reading this one. I'd rather Greatness concentrate on moving things forward.

Anyway, I've exited IC, so now I exit OOC.
So long and thanks for all the fish, folks. Let me darken your day no more!

Don't join a game you don't intend to finish.

Wow, I'm flattered. That's really nice to hear. This setting's been in my head for a while, and that's nice to know.

Thanks for starting the short discussion. I'll try to improve, but it really is nice to hear. It's quite considerate that you didn't want to slow things down. I hope you'll enjoy what you read from this game from here on out, because something tells me that once it gets going, it'll get wild.

Until the next time we meet, rather as equal players, me joining a game you make, or you showing up to another of my games (other then this one, obviously), have fun. So long, Dwarmin. And thanks for all the fish!

Don't join a game you don't intend to finish.

Are you seriously going to drag this out? While his/her reasons for leaving may seem hypocritical to you, they're the reasons they have, and as a picky person, I understand. So don't start, please.

Alright, how about tomorrow, we can get the game running again? That would be nice. I've been figuring out scene direction, so hopefully all of this doesn't happen again in either this game, or any others I run.  :D
