It could be better.  There's a distinct shortage of latex, and nobody has trading ships to bring in the chips.

House Vandelay has trained its first Architects!  Up until now we were only pretending but now we're the real deal, baby!

In other news, work is underway on a cowshed - not that the weather really facilitates the breeding of cows just now, but the ones we have were cluttering the streets so it'll be good to have somewhere out of the way for them.  Really, we just need it as a prereq for the Tannery, which will then allow us to turn all these bison and reindeer hides into gloves, which in turn will let us train up our nailmaker to start turning the iron we're producing into buildings and money (I mean, we make a fair bit selling the iron itself, but as the market for raw iron is saturated on Error, turning it into things is a lot more profitable).

I also notice that Weissland to our west is now under new ownership and renamed, an extension of the Zandor alliance I believe?

Yes, that would be us. Nyhaven and Colonium are part of our beachhead to support bay12ers who have settled Error. Feel free to ask us for help if you should need it. Also your character portrait really is spot on!

Finally made Wolockia into a lordship. That ressources poor forsaken land part of the frozen wasteland that is Northern Tetra somehow developped enough to earn a nobility rank. Also the first iron mine is now completed and staffed.

Ok, cool.  Similarly if I can help out with you or any of the other bay12ers in the area, give me a shout (though it may be a while until I can do much more than put up the occasional batch of medium quality tools).

And yeah, I couldn't believe it when that portrait came up, it was so perfect.

It certainly scratches an itch I've had for a while now.

Anyone know exactly how the 'charms' skill works?

I have my strippers ladies of pleasure giving a show, and it shows up in the info bar for the brothel as giving +4 happiness. Now, is that's all that's needed? Because I also see that I can have other units join the 'charms' work event. Doing so with some diggers brought the happiness from the charms event down to +2, and I'm not sure if that's because the diggers are using up some of the happiness of the show, or if the quality of the show overall was decreased because my diggers joined it, and were also (attempting to) please the crowd.

Also, 10-year-old humor mode - it's just because the brothel happens to be built on a plains, but I gave a good *snerk* when I saw that the top two skills for my ladies was 'charms' and 'ploughing'.

I don't have any whores yet - I'm too above such sin & will leave the likes of that for such lower Lords as may be...

But yes, adding your digger to the "Dance" is lowering the effect I would say. There is a help section for it, those effects are applied once per hour it says. Along with the +/- for getting/not getting a consumer good.

Beruland is from here as well. Unfortunately it is very bad location and no valuable things in vicinity to expand.

On the Diggers and the Charms, yeah, it's the latter.  The Consumption and Happiness help topics explain it pretty thoroughly, but basically while a unit is idle they'll get the accumulated happiness bonus/penalty for the square they're in (which includes the Charms bonus) along with the bonus/penalty for whether they were able to acquire a random consumable item they wanted to buy (edit: each hour).  Adding the Diggers to the Charms work event does indeed mean they were trying to please the crowd (and doing a bad job).

And yeah, Beruland's location is pretty desolate :/  Some ok building materials but not much else.  South looks like the best bet for expanding there, some good plains and meadows for when temperatures rise and might be able to get an iron deposit or two.  (edit: I guess north has similar, tho while the iron there is closer it's terrible quality).   I think a one or two of the others in that vicinity are also bay12 (pretty sure Vanessland is, not sure about the rest).

I have a question!

Is there any point to vassalizing your surrounding inactive neighbours?

Here are my coordinates for reference: 02908W:17665N There are a few inactive domains around my land, I'm just wondering if there' any advantage to making them swear fealty, or if I should just stab them all, wait the 7 days and liquidate them?

Thoughts?

I am on Error as well. Lailleux will definitely help any fellow bay12'ers.

Here: https://www.landsoflords.com/map?x=-1770&y=-24833 I also hold Port Milieu just to the east on the coast planning to connect them up.

First level of my wooden castle will finally be finished in a couple of hours, I'm churning out high quality tools now and have other basic industries churning along nicely, things are going good.

I cant see any reason to vassal those inactives. Vassal gives you taxes, so since those are inactive they wont give much. The other reason could be to ensure those lands for when your ready to expand, if you wipe them out then someone else could settle there or expand there - but your area seems quite empty anyway so I doubt thats an issue?

Glad I invested in some new swords then. 8) I suppose killing lords will help my character level up at least :)

Long construction/work times also contribute to lordling experience.  (My lordlings are level 3 and 2.)  Maybe travel times would contribute too, would have to check next time I send someone across the continent.  (Using tokens doesn't accelerate experience gain.)

Would like to know if combat nudges the xp bar any.

On another note, started making bricks/tiles.  79% quality out of the gate and the brickmaker only has trowels.
Clay is criminally cheap at .02 per piece, 5000 clay = 100g.  The expensive part is charcoal and I've just set-up a domain to get me a buncha uber quality beech for that charcoal making.

.... I guess I'll split my mindless auto-training regime between brickmakers and ladies of pleasure... get em to level 3(or more) before choosing a proper job for them peasants.
