Ah. Unfortunately, Malkus does not have sufficient knowledge of telepathy or similar magics. You can get a vague impression of what is happening to him, as well as send him vague orders, but long-range complex communication requires either both parties to have the relevant skills (telepathy or basic magic), or the use of some manner of artifact.
You can use spectres or smokewraiths as messengers, though. You could order Malkus to send a report with one of his surviving smokewraiths.

Huh. The creation of the succubus a few Posts back didn't cost us anything.
It was created with the evil of destroying a temple.

Oh, in that case, send a few Spectres to find out what happened.

An entire invasion force rolled over his fortress in 15 minutes, and he didn't see it coming. Intervening personally is not a good idea.

I think we really need to step up our military arm.  Start training all cultists under the guise of a ducal militia, or something similar, and press recruitment amongst his soldiers as well as Knights throughout the province. 

Also I think we should look up the sites or old battles to raise a bunch or skeletons and zombies, which we should have armoured in order to make them longer lived.

As for Malkus we should send a couple specters to gather Intel on him and the fort.

If it's the angel, rally our forces and go after it.
If it's a force of Tokuzu, order him to retreat out of the empire. Attack isolated farms and villages, raise the undead, and generally create a low level chaos.
Keep searching for the angel.
Step up training of our Nails, and recruit another 40.
When we find the angel ,attack have a spectre follow them to their hideout.

If we are going after the angel, shouldn't we first actually increase our strength.  We totally failed in our campaign to gather more power.

Okay

-Send a specter and check the situation and if possible order for malkus raid small villages and rebuild an army and create a small chaos ( i doubt it's our angel or a angel, but i like the orders of urist for him)
-Reinforce the search of the angel in the northwest, use ours and duke's forces to scout the land pinpoint possible hidden bases
-Create a Hoax that rebels are together with a murderous wizard and are destroying villages, with unknown horrors just to weaken the republic, maybe it's something about the empire, isn't they looking suspicious lately?
(the people that escaped will probably tell about the horrors fighting dukes forces, make they look in the other way)
-Continue executing innocent people charged of treason

we still need to do something with the rest of the captives.

( i don't remember if i am suggesting this a second time or not.)-Sacrifice half of the captives to get evil to create some "gluttony imps"* they will be a kind of demonic evil livestock to be eaten later to grow might or be sacrificed to create more servants

A huge, immobile and deformed faces with two mouths and initially just one open with a green "jelly" in it's mouth

Insert captive inside it's mouth and the jelly will keep the captive fed but will torture him/her 24hrs/7 days of the week, the evil generated will feed the imp and it will begin to grow, when it's full size the second mouth opens and two things can be done

1. Put another captive in the second mouth and it will split and the cycle continues

2. Cultists can harvest the jelly as food or add it as a kind of extra ingredients in torture (pepper in the eyes? yes)

If no one harvest the jelly it will slowly fall from the mouth and rot (further corrupting the place)

Hmm. Sounds a bit big and complicated for an imp. Glutton beast, perhaps.

Anyway. Been busy the past few days. Tomorrow I should have time to write an update, though. At the moment it looks like Urist's plan has the most support... with three people.
