Things I've tried:
(with Giant steel axe blade)
Hauling loop over repeating spikes with (40 pages, no parries)
Stationing back and forth over repeated spikes (1,5 pages, no parries, also hella unwieldy since they drop the hauled blade when reaching the destination unless there's another station destination)
Getting interrupted by undead, dwarf drops the blade and either runs away (if inactive) or attacks the undead (if militarily active)  (With dwarf having competent discipline and Proficent misc user beforehand)

Unifoms tried: nothing, over clothes, and individual melee (with no native weapons available), over clothes.

Of note, I noticed dwarf stayed still when given valid kill order around the corner, at least for a bit till the skin wandered in view - this may be useful if they would finally parry something.

(With Wheelbarrow):
Similar results, expect activating the dwarf dropped the wheelbarrow to ground even without the zombie.
Didn't test with spikes, however, though not sure that'd matter with wheelbarrow not being part of dwarf inventory when using it to haul between piles.

PS: The purpose is two-hold: have military with unusual weapons and perhaps mining experience given to anyone willing to pick up a large tool.
