Drunk with Power
« on: December 08, 2016, 02:46:06 pm »

So I was playing around with being a super villain last night.
Earlier I found a slab on a bandit boss who happened to Be a necromancer... the real fun started when I, as a necromancer axeman with a few marksmen in my party, decided I was going to claim a city as my necropolis. I found an enemy civ (Playing a modded game, so my enemies were a kind of bird people) and began slaying them left and right, my power growing exponentially as towns fell under the rotted feet of my army. I made it to the castle wearing a full set of iron armor and a crown, and took on the king in one on one combat. Who happened to be an expert lasher and immediately kicked my ass because I wasn't prepared for the battle.

Any ideas on what I should do with it next? I still know exactly where the slab is hidden, I stashed it away where it'd be safe. Hopefully.

First train yourself wrestiling small things. Once your strenght and agility go up with all that work-out, grab a sword and slap the shit out of everything with the sword's flat side. I usually slap bears on their tails or front paws. If it's too boring, set up a macro. Also, lie on the ground while doing it. The bear will get more attacks in, so you'll train shield user while blocking those, and by being on the ground you avoid getting charged.

Doing that I've reached legendary swordman in a day, with superior agility and strenght. (at character creation, get yourself superior endurance and some willpower. I usually roll heroes, so I max endurance and get above average willpower, that's all I need)

Once all that's done, try to see just how much faster and stronger you can get. I read that there's a limit based on your starting stats.
Once you reach the limit, go to a temple and topple a statue (save first, so if you don't get vampire at the first try you can try again. You'll know you're a vampire because all the people you can't directly see will appear as a red dot. Yes, you're seeing their warm blood. Wonder if it works on cold bloded things like reptiles and such....)

Anyway, by now you should be one though vampire swordman. You never get tired, you're super fast, strong and feel no pain. And you drink blood. And becoming a necromancer doesn't take away that kind of thirst.

Have FUN!

or you could skip out on the training up skills and go stealth route and get 100 percent hits on everything from behind dealing enough damage to knock out and allow you to suffocate them to death.
and/or become a one of the insanely powerful and perk filled animalmen like say an elephantman or rhinoman and be an evil necromancer who can punch the skull out of a king and carry your entire undead army on your back with no stress or speed drop.
or become a spider-person and dabble in the insane task of getting undead bogeymen
if you don't get vampire from your god gamble you ended up with a sweet recovery and heal perk of being a wild beastman.
or just mod the game to include all kinds of interaction god curses so you could just keep tipping statues for more cursed powers with the off chance you might end up getting vanilla werebeast or vampire and have freak outbursts of transforming on  the full moon.

For the record, I suggest becoming a vampire after reaching your limit in strenght and agility because becoming a vampire doubles those stats. I think its better to have your limit X2 rather than your starting stats X2 only to hit the limit sooner. Of course, by becoming a vampire you don't get tired, so you could train your weapon skills against a Bronze Collosus forever, reaching legendary infinite +1. That might make up for having sub-par strenght and agility.

Then again, I don't remember if that was bugged and you were able to get XP, or if that was for necromancers.

The Dwarf Fortress players. Their honesty is a sight to behold.
Behold in mute and utter horror, but still.
(maybe a snicker or dark chuckle here and there.)

look supervillain tier isn't being strong enough to be a national disaster but to be in command of multiple of those.
and so far I haven't gotten around to figuring out how to send armies out to towns and use that to send a guy to recruit all the victims to the base to convert them into another army to send after another town.

Max attributes before becoming a vampire, because vampires can't increase attributes. However, they won't rust, either.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe necromancer slabs disappear if they're moved (of course I might be wrong about that).  But if you do manage to find it, or a different one, I would suggest leveling your dodging, fighting, and [weapon of choice] skills to at least expert.  After that, I'd suggest bringing an army of at least 50 zombies to a dark fortress, and let them act as fodder for the...clown at the top, while you cripple and kill it.  If all goes well, you'll have a nigh unstoppable zombie...clown on your side.

I tried it once, but I accidentally smashed its head in with a war hammer, so that was a failure

Demons are NOT_LIVING I believe, so zombies will not attack it. Also I think you can't zombify creatures with NOT_LIVING, not sure about that though.

I don't think the slabs disappear. I remember once giving one to a lady that told me there were foul things going on at the tower. I had cleaned the tower, but couldn't find the "bring up you slew a necromancer" thing on the conversation, so I thought giving it to her would be enough proof. Dunno if she read it, but it was mighty heavy, so she moved really slow because of it.

zombies do attack demons just that they also attack bounded demons as remembered by a tale of someone having to kill their entire zombie army to keep their demon bride alive.
reanimating a demon will just bring back a still hostile zombie demon.
