The fun part about it, was that I named my expidition leader, who became the mayor before my tower was brutally seiged by goblins, "The Amyrlin Seat". She was also a female.

This afternoon in a little coffeeshop/cafe, I ran across a cold drink advertisement with the caption: "The Picks of Summer."

It took me a few seconds to parse it as "Choices We Have Made for Summer," but I thought "That sounds like a dwarven military unit" immediately.

Heh, I just made one. I started with the random name "Craftmurdered", and tweaked it a bit.

Now it's "Uthgurusin Sedilkadankirongeshud Muzish", or "Demonmurder the Angelic Impervious Holy-Fortress of Martyrs".

Yes, I expect a lot of carnage. I'm Embarking into a Terrifying biome, after all. The first order of bisuness will be to construct a giant wall and steel door. (Unless we unlucky Embark next to baddies, in which case the first order of bisuness is to don plate mail and heft weapons and go at it.)

And, just for fun, I choose to name the group, too. They are "Koganusin Tosidnudenkironlitast Osor". I'll leave it to you guys to translate that. ^_^

Note: WHY THE HELL does the Dwarven Language lack both "Wrathful" and "Vengeful"? >_<

Well, crap. We embarked literally in the middle of a swarm of Zombie Hoary Marmots, with a large-ish group of Hoary Marmots and Antmen only a little bit to the south.

It's a damn good thing all of my dwarves are Superdwarvenly Tough and very very highly agile and strong. They may have to wrastle just to get to put on their armor and don their weapons.

I really wish I could've pre-equipped them. I'll tell you how this goes - I put them all in one squad and directed them to the center of the wagons.

In the event anybody gives a crap, it worked like a charm. My Dwarves put on their full suits of platemail, strapped shields to their arms, a spare axe to their backs, hefted a battle-axe, and went killing.

To be honest I never really got that fortress up and running. I abandoned it some time during the second year because the area turned out to be a fiasco. It's a nice idea though, I might use the name again and see if I can get any further once the new version comes out.
