I actually excluded GAS from all that. The "schoolgirl" that Oroka didn't know was actually Yamahata. I'm not actually sure whether or not he actually attends school or just wears a uniform.

I'm having a little problem keeping up with what-the-hell-is-going-on but that's okay because I'm just a nobody-rumor-spreading-muggle, so all that really matters is what's happening in the scenes I'm in but it would be good to be able to keep track of major events if a timeline can be kept.

I'm a little confused as to how prolific the knights are.
My understanding is they were big a thousand years ago before they disappeared when the demons blood sprayed everywhere.

Then just recently they started to return...

So they're not like the Earth's overlords right now just kind of this fring annoyance factor.

If they are just on the outside of what's going on in the world(albiet rising threat) then high schools and things like that would safely be all over. If not if they are everywhere then a high school would have to exist in some kind of sanctuary. Safe from the knights and probably some place that needs to be defended.

Well, they're  an annoyance in the same way thatthe Zerg or Tyranids are. I.E. they may be mooks but they're unending mooks and of course some are actually a threat on their own.
And they may possibly be ten stories tall

Try to stick around a bit longer. Games update faster when they have that new game slow. It will probably slow down in a week or two.
