Asking again because I forgot--if Production is played and the player has 0 food in inventory, but farms to produce more than consumed, is work done?
Does this kind of process require food beforehand, and then consumption is computed before production?

Yeah you can do that fine. My strategy completely relies on this fact :P

Several things here.

1) Your card is instead of the Phase Ability. So you can get something other than just an unskilled colonist, but you don't get both.

2) No, you cannot go below 1 Wealth. You'll have to trade with someone for that wealth if you want to do this.

Production happens in whatever order you want it to. So you typically run all your farms first to make food then do the other buildings. It is also optional which buildings you activate every turn.

And, no, buildings that you do not activate do not take food.

I will happily loan you that 1 wealth, at 100% interest :P (The lowest it's possible to go without charging nothing)

HMPH, CAPITALISM :P

Waaaaait this means I can run my TRADE turn first! I don't need wealth owed then! \o/(although honestly I'd love to trade with other people--but nobody puts up offers and bids >_<)

You can trade with other players at any point. The trade phase is just so we can trade with the Homeworld.

3) Build
4) Production
5) Trade
6) Organize


Technically, everyone does Survey at the same time, then everyone does Colonization, and so on. But since this is a forum game it flows better if people just talk about anything that effects one another and posts their entire turn in one go.

Something you think is fair trade too :P I'm playing the whatif-Meph-turns-this-into-a-boardgame and being the 'friendly player person'. :P Which is pretty much how I'd play anyway.
