PTW for the time being.

Er... yeah. That.

You're glad to have your Nameless Ukulele,
but that's enough hugging of inanimate objects.
And enough vivid hallucination of cats.
Enough for a very long time.

Surprisingly, after all that, you still Feel Like Garbage.
Maybe this is not so surprising, actually.

You take a moment to assess your CHARACTER STATUS.

CHARACTER STATUS: HANA (Mouse over for details)

ENERVATED:
≫ SOME OF HANA'S WILLPOWER IS BURNED.
≫ IT WILL NOT RECOVER BY NATURAL HEALING.

Hmm.

That ENERVATED part might explain some of it.
At least you're HEALTHY, and your STATS are normal otherwise.
Can't hardly go on an adventure with junked-up STATS, right?

Right.

Check out the entry at the other side of the cave

Speaking of Adventure, you're curious about the chamber to the... West?
You've got no idea which way is which, but let's just call it West.

It's not lit up like this chamber, so you can't see into it from here.
For a moment, you thought you heard a muffled echo, from somewhere deeper?
But maybe not. It's pretty much silent, apart from the sound of wind from outside.
You still wonder if there's anything dangerous over there?

You'll have to check it out, once you wrap up things in here.

Finding something to defend yourself with might be a good idea, before you go.
Even a makeshift weapon would be better than nothing.

You try breaking a Small Stalagmite off the ground.

Oof, it's no use!

The stupid rock is thicker than your arms, and pretty tough.
And the formation isn't long enough to get good leverage on.

Oh well. Probably would've made a shitty weapon, anyway.
As if you even needed one.

Our Ukelele is named Mori...probably a shorthand for Memoria.

Hmm. You've been thinking about names for your new Instrument.
What about Memento Mori? "Remember, you will die", right?
Granted, it's a bit morbid and edgy.
But it's no "Princess Bloodthorn," you suppose.

All in all, you like it.
It's a good reminder to Live Hard, while you can.
Always do your best. Follow your heart. Enjoy yourself.
That sort of thing.

If you invert it, "Death of Remembering" feels weirdly appropriate too.

Anyway, you strap Memento Mori to the Duffel Bag, to free your hands.
You'll just call 'em Mori for short.

You kneel down and poke around inside the mysterious Duffel Bag.
You almost feel like you know what you'll find before you pull it out.
Like a brief moment of Deja Vu, though the feeling subsides.

Looks like a Leather Toolkit, for various crafts or repair work.
It'd definitely work for Instrument Repairs.
You might find tools for other kinds of work in there, too.
It's fairly heavy, though. About 10kg of wood and metal.
Since you can only carry about 30kg comfortably, that's quite a bit.

Next is a 20m Spool of Rope, made of plant fiber.
It's roughly 8kg. Another heavy thing, but really useful!
In a pinch, it could be unwound into Several 20m Cords.
Or a whole mess of loose Twine. But these wouldn't be as strong.
And winding them back up would probably be impossible.
Fiber like this can rot, and is also pretty flammable.
Right now, it's in good condition, though!

Spoiler: Item #3 (click to show/hide)

Next, you pull out an Emergency Flashlight.
The bulb is old-fashioned, and it's not terribly rugged.
But the plastic is a pretty color. You always liked blue.
You do feel the reassuring heft of large batteries inside, as well.
It blinks on and off when you test it, so there's some juice left.

Is this a Plush Cat? It looks hand-crafted.
Buttons for eyes and everything.
Don't know what's up with the stitched-on arse, though.
Someone's got a strange sense of humor.

It's a toy, but it's pretty weird and cute.
The sort of thing you'd have wanted, as a kid.
And... honestly still sorta do? tough-girl image be damned.

Anyway, you're nearing the bottom of the Duffel!
You wonder what prize was waiting at the bottom?
It feels like balled-up fabric.
Smooth, flexible, and not too heavy.
It's weirdly familiar, but not in a Weirdly weird way.

This is kind of exciting!
You lift it out, and unfurl it.

Spoiler: Item #5 (click to show/hide)

Huh. Welp!

With that, the Duffle is now empty.
It's Inventory fully inventoried.
You carefully repack it, and strap Mori the Ukulele to it.
Then stand up to test the weight.

Explore the westward? passage.

You're finally satisfied with your preparations.
Shouldering the Duffel Bag, you head into the Dark Passage.

Spoiler: GM NOTES: (click to show/hide)

Great, now our Ukelele is named after a very nice Roman quote as a reminder to all Emperors about their mortality, which keeps them anchored to the present and practice mindfulness. And it's my fault ;~;

That goes well with cats, anyway. And works with her anxiety :D

Also that plush cat. XD Exactly the upside-down silly cuteness I love to bits. It's just like your old avatar, Soli. Complete with minor details.

But curses, now we lack food! At least we can sling that duffel bag for another storage!

Flick on that flashlight quick for any sign of scary things!
Then flick it on when you're pretty sure there aren't any!
Hold both Mori and the plushie for safety

Edit: Wait. Our inventory doesn't have a second container slot! D:
NOOOO. The bane of all RPGs.

The goddamn roll is a 4 7/7.

Even on bay12 I can't escape Midrange Shaman.

God fucking damnit.

I spend a lot of time on the Hearthstone (Virtual Card Game) subreddit.

The image I linked to is a card which is pretty insane. A 'vanilla' minion is a 4 mana 4/5, and that is a 4 mana 7/7 that prevents you from using two mana the next turn. It turned into a pretty huge meme because you got a huge damn body way early in the game for comparitively little downside, and if you had certain minions out, the downside turned into a huge upside, leading to you losing most if not all of your health by turn 6 and losing without being able to do a damn thing.

It's a Hearthstone thing. Digital card game.
I gather that Derm has a sad and storied history battling Shamans.

So much so that the numbers on the dice triggered his PTSD. (Post-Trouncing Shaman Disgrace)

Ninja: Or that.

Make fun of the fact that this is the same stat system as that other game.

Talk to ourself in order to fulfil the "Social Support" condition for regaining Enervation. Who needs other people?

Open the duffle inside the duffle for more storage! It's like putting a corpse inside your inventory, but not like that at all!

...And then turn on the flashlight, provided that we haven't been eaten already.

There's reasons, not the least of which is that I put time into building it for dat reboot. I'mma get some mileage out of it! :3

Huh, just realized that Soli's avatar now features catarse. Again.

You realize, now, that this is actually your fault, right?

You are the cat-arse catalyst. It's you.

Definitely check out the red glowy thing with the flashlight. It's almost certainly not a horrible monster preying on the memory-addled.

Soli where'd you learn all this sorcery with the navigation image links and where can I learn how that works? What's that github thing that the song is hosted by? How long is the drawing taking you on this in general, typically?

Yeah but it's not just:
Code: [Select]

Fakeedit: Oh, Bit.ly is a URL shortener. Didn't know that.
