Within the infinite space that is the unstable Void, lies a precious few expanses of order and stability. These Bubbles, allow for the creation of of matter and from this matter, life. It is the capability of many forms of life to create the all-important 'Essence' that drives many Void beings into its relatively calm and orderly confines, allowing them to generate the energy that sustains their beings and gives them power over their colleagues.
To control the crop that is mortal life and reap the harvest is to be a lord amongst gods. Of course, there are always dangers and many a lord has fallen to deceit, war, disease or even incompetence. Regardless, another will always arrive, to replace them for if one thing is certain, it is this:
The Essence must flow.
Yet another god game for your amusement. I will initially be taking six players who have been lucky enough to stake their claim on a newly formed bubble, despite competition from the outside. Exploit, nourish, create or war. In fact, do as you wish but always remember that Essence is Life for all of your kind and maintaining control over Essence will ensure your continued survival.
Gods will be chosen on merit, so please do put some effort into your sheets
Name: The sound that people use to refer to you.
Sphere(s): Aspects of creation that the god controls. One at start.
Appearance: The usual look a particular void entity takes in the confines of the Bubble.
Personality: The usual disposition a particular void entity takes.
Description: Anything else that isn't suited to the above.
Some ground rules:
-No secret actions
-All actions must be bolded. If you wish to pass, please make this known.
-Action order is determined by who posts first.
A god is a void entity (i.e a being that lives outside a bubble) that has conveniently found itself in charge over some aspect of a Bubble. They are able to conduct change to creation through Acts and Deeds. A god's sphere determines how likely their actions are to go without problems; acting outside one's sphere(s) is likely to lead to Problems with such Problems only worsening with greater power. All gods start with one Great Act, two Acts and are able to perform 1 Deed per turn. MAs can be converted to As at a ratio of 3MA:1MA. As can be verted to GAs at a ratio of 6A:1GA.
The number of Acts put into an action increases the intensity of the action.
Great Acts (GA): a power so great that even other gods are impressed. Great Acts allow for the creation of worlds, celestial objects, Angel, crafting equipment for godly combat as well as anything an Act or Minor Act could do, just with far higher intensity. Putting so much power into such activities however, leads to Unforseen Consequences.
Acts (A): the basic unit of power for gods. Can be used to shape creation, create/destroy 3 pops of mortals, create/destroy other forms of life as well as the creation of other things impressive to mortals.
Minor Acts (MA): a pinch of divine power more commonly associated with prophets and heroes than gods. Used to craft artifacts of moderate power, the shaping of small areas, the teaching of technology and the like.
Bound Acts (BA): acts that are related to a sphere; they can only be used to actions relating to that sphere.
Deeds (D): not divine at all, these are actions performed with only the entity's personal form rather than divine power. Whereas Acts will nearly always succeed (unless opposed), even with unintended consequences, Deeds have a chance of failure. Used to communicate with mortals, encourage them, or otherwise. Deeds may also be used to oppose other Deeds.
A god without essence isn't a god. Essence can be gained in many ways. Some are included here.
Worship: mortal respect given to a god. Three mortal pops will give 1 MA per turn.
Fonts: sources of power that give a variable amount of essence per turn. Most Fonts require 1 A to claim. An unclaimed font will provide no Essence to anyone.
Deicide: the killing of a god results in all their remaining acts being divided amongst all other gods. This can be refused by a particularly moral god. While dead, the slain god's corpse becomes a Husk, which while resembling the former god, lacks the divine energies it once possessed. Even such a diminished being however, is powerful in the right hands.
The Void: the denizens of the Void may sometimes offer Essence.
The types of creations a god can potentially create. Note that other creations are possible and may have rules applied to them as necessary.
Pops: alternatively called mortals. pops provide worship to their patrons at a rate of 1MA for every 3 Pops. While a pop may worship multiple gods in some form, only one god will receive worship from it. Do note that Pops are living beings and will switch their allegiance as the situation calls for it.
Artifacts: objects of power, these are used to provide power of some sort to mortals or to conduct actions in the world without constantly using A every turn. Particularly powerful Artifacts may be used by the gods; lesser artifacts would only break at the touch of the divine.
Planes/worlds: places of substantial size or inherent power. Usually require 1GA (or more) to create. Creating a plane/world not on the physical plane, or otherwise disconnected from the rest of the creation, may incur other penalties. In most cases, the attributes and environments of a plane/world are specified during their creation.
Angels: powerful entities, Angels are small portions of a god's essence made sapient. Whereas their creators are incorporeal for most of the time, Angels are purely physical entities. Functioning like minor gods, they have spheres, physical forms and personalities with their power correlating to the Essence put into their creation. They require at least 1GA to create. An Angel is limited to MAs and Deeds. They are able to perform 1 MA and 2 Deeds per turn. Gods must assign a Purpose to an Angel at their creation which describes what their actions will consist of. Angels require either a source of Essence or donations from their god to perform their Purpose. Note that an Angel with a demeanor or sphere radically different from their master may not be entirely loyal.
Direct godly combat is often more abstract than physical and as such, Acts and the like are useless to such combat. Instead, each god has a Power Rating (PR) that can be increased or decreased depending on events and godly artifacts. To prevent Gaming The System and other Consequences, how PR increases success in combat is best left hidden. Suffice to say, a higher PR is very helpful.
Secrets! are as of yet unrevealed mechanics. Have fun discovering them!
Void Interaction
-A void being's offer may be vetoed if a majority of gods oppose it.
-A void being's offer may be accepted by more than one player. The player who can offer the best deal to the void being will receive its gift.
