I back off to a safe distance and return to Giant Frost Cat to give me a bit more durability, and wait for the thing to settle down.

((Sorry wanted to drop a resurrection post, but couldn't defeat the lack of high rolls clause and ended up forgetting to post an action entirely.))

Stare at the wall where ebony used to be for a few moments mourning the loss of a useful comrade, then turn and rot my way out of this creature.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

You do this. after a few moments the thing settles down. You hear scratching and claws on stone off to your left, beyond a couple pillars and some rubble.

You rot the walls. They rot much quicker this time, corroding all around you. Holes appear, and you detect a faint hint of light from above. You tear through the weakened metal, and climb out into an open space. Still pretty dark though. You hear the faint click of toenail on metal off to the right, and a sound like a puff of air, like a horse might make breathing out through it's nose.

I make a curious meow and go investigate the noise
Assuming it's Cho, I'll be shifting to my default form and:
"Cho? Is that you? I lost track of my Star Sprite so I came to find out what happened. Did the fake-hallway-corrupt-rotting-trap-monster-thing eat my sprite? Where's Ebony?"

Climb out of the creature/hallway and seek out the source of the sound.

"The sprite never came back maybe this atevit, maybe something else did.
Ebony didn't make it,  I tried to drag her free of the creature but her magic backfired and... It didn't go so well...

"She... oh..."
"Well, I guess I'll have to guide you out myself."
I'm going to need to guide Cho myself, how far are we from the cart? If its not close I'm going to need to revisit Noir to resupply her with water.

Aylia and Cho arrive, after some time, at the cart in the North. On the journey, Aylia has had to fly to the South to help keep Noir hydrated while Dar hunts the small animals around the lichen field. Noir has healed and is able to travel and act as normal, though her wing healed improperly and flight is unlikely.

So, at the moment, two of the survivors of this mission are at the North with the supplies and cart, and two are at the South.

Prep that I need to do:
Cho - now at the cart - needs a chance to eat/drink and recover.
I need to scout out a good landing area near Dar/Noir and mark it somehow.
I need to return to the cart crash site and use floaty form to recover what I can - probably mostly my own gear - and get it to the cart while the cart is still relatively close.
I need to test floaty form. (combine with above)
I need to teach Cho how to control the cart.

Once all the above have been completed, probably in that order, then will attempt to fly the cart south to Dar and Noir with Aylia and Cho on it, using floaty form as emergency recovery system.

after cart has been moved to the south, will want to secure an insertion point for another recovery team, recover Assin's star sprite, write a report to Omega, and then depending on the report's response either we prep to leave and leave or we push on and attempt to recover the heart of lathal

If Cho proves unable to learn shoot him accept it as a thing and move on, it isn't mandatory to proceed, just would provide a fallback in case Aylia needed to leave the controls mid-flight.

I guess Dar will jusr continue to stay with Noir, guarding snd comforting her while they wait for Aylia to do all that.
Noir gently pulls dar closer to her into her lap gently petting him quietly before she breathes.
"....Dar do you think ebony and aylia are okay?"

Alright, since we have one active character that we're all waiting on, we'll just advance to the important bits.

Testing the floater form gives you a ten foot, tentacled airbag, basically. Ask me more and I'll give you details. For now, it's bullet points. You can carry your stuff with ease, but it's a much slower trip back to the cart than as Sprite, so it takes a few hours. (5) and all your stuff is still there. Fabulous. So, you get all your bits and put Cho in the driver's seat. you point out the bits, and he wiggles some levers, nearly causing you both some hi-jinks and misadventures. That's enough of that kind of thing. that's what got us in this mess to begin with. You take over the reins and launch into the air. that part is smoother than you hoped (5) and the rest of the flight goes smooth and simple. You land near the lichen field (which is a clear enough mark that you didn't need to set anything else up). And walk the Cart over to Dar and Noir.

The south pole seems like a good insertion point, as it is less of a mess than most of what you've experienced otherwise.
Supplies are good for a couple more weeks, but with the four of you, and the dangers already experienced, let alone the dangers suspected from further in, you'll have to decide among you whether to continue or retreat. Go ahead and give me the contents of the message to Omega, and I'll respond.

Oh, and recovering Asiin's Sprite will require flying out into the debris trail of the planetoid. Unknown dangers await. Or no dangers. But, either way, not quite as simple as picking up your bag from a known location.
