Aylia, Team RoofIf I'm going to deal with a winged creature, might as well deal with it in an enclosed space. And I need to hurry, that thing won't stop eating this place just because I want to talk.
I turn around and look at what is following me, waiting for it to finish coming down and seeing if it's hostile or not. I doubt it's a predator though, because a flying large predator generally wouldn't follow me down into here. especially since it can't be much bigger than me in my current form and still fit on the stairs at all.

Weird, Ominous shit starts happening. there're noises. The winged creature retreats out of the stairwell. the mechapede makes general hushing motions and crouches really low, backing up against a wall and going still.

Aylia and Dar meet up on the same stairwell, and Dar guides Aylia toward Noir, whom he senses. Solam manages to swing over to the south wall, where a bit of the floor still sticks out. he side walks around to the machinery room, just as Aylia nd Dar appear there from the south. Likewise, Noir, in a daze, climbs the stairs in front of her and finds herself in the machinery room.

the machinery room is full of dust, so the four of you migrate to the far side of it, toward the doorways into the ampitheater.

Noir... Meekly gets up when she gets in the machinery room wiping away her tears sniffling still trying to stay calm to calm her frenzied breathing.

The dust from the machinery begins to move, flowing as though propelled by a gentle breeze at first, then clumping together and hurling itself across the room. It gathers and coagulates near the group, forming and swelling upward into a 7 foot tall mound of detritus and rust residue. The pile twitches and spreads, flattening out into a tall ovoid ring that hovers in place a few inches above the ground, constantly shedding a thin haze of dust that swirls around and reforms onto the ring. From the top edge of the ring a flow of pitch black oil like fluid starts, a sheet of liquid that falls down to the bottom edge of the ring and vanishes. This flow continues for several seconds before flattening and smoothing into a vertical pool of inky liquid. Through this liquid, seemingly submerged within the standing pool, you can see blurry lights and the form of a building.

Dar'yajira rushes over to the new portal, sniffing at it, and examining it with his druidic senses.  If it seems safe, or even not directly dangerous, he'll lead the way inside while shouting for his friends to follow him.
