You awake alone, your body lieing on the hard cold steel table.
Some where up above as storm rages, the crack odd thunder muffled by the stone roof above.
Painfully, you reach out with a stiff leg and stand up.
Dozens of broken and rusted machines fill the room.
With a stiff legged gait you stagger to door way and out in to the hallway.
It's a long stone walkway, the walls lined wine racks.
At one end is some stairs leading up to a wooden door, the other a large pile coal and a sliver of moon light shining from the coal grate.

There's a thud as some hit something hard, and then a gun shot echo's down the hallway.
Another shot echo's and a woman screams.

What do you do?

As you climb the stairs the stiffness fades from your body.

You open the door to find a dozen soldiers surrounding a well dressed man.
He's a giant of man and ugly, in one hand he gently cradles a dead woman.

"Now you will do as mine fuhrer commands! Make it alive."
An officer comand as he hold a smoking luger in hand.
For a minute nothing happens as giant just strokes the womans jet black hair, then the officer nods to one of his men.
A maid in a torn dress is throw to ground.
"Do it or she dies as well!"

With that the giant roars as he leaps towards the officer.

You duck as a stream of bullets sweeps across the room.
The room shakes as grenades blast the furniture to pieces.
You look up to see a dead man, his vacant eyes staring at you from under his Stahlhelm.

What now?

Run for the gun?
Run back to cellar and out the coal grate
Try to run out the front door?
Hide in the cellar?

Discretion is the better part of valour, so you run and hide.
Down the steps and back in to cellar, burying your self under the coal pile.
You can still movement up stairs but the shooting has stopped.
Then it get quite, you wait your how long for, and then you hear it.
A low cracking fire and then whiff of smoke.
The house is on fire!

Now out the coal grate? or up the stairs?

You climb up the slopeinng mass of coal and push the heavy grate open.
Sticking your head out, you can see only a few soldiers standing idly by grey half tack.
With your body black from the coal you fad in to shadows as you cross the yard.

Hideing in the bushes the château burns behind you as you wonder where to go,
in the distance you can see the lights of a small village and road down the hill to your left.

A: Head to the Small village?
B: See where the Road goes?
C: Hide in the woods till day break?
D: Wait until the château stops burning and loot it?

For a moment you consider heading in to the woods or the village, but the night is dark and cold.

So you wait out the night in the bush while the château burns away.
As the first rays of morning light shine over the hills, you start searching in the remains.

Soon catch a flash of light from a broken shard of glass.
You pick it up and try to see what you look like in the reflection.

In short your a mess, covered in coal dust minor cuts and scrapes.
After wiping away most of dust with an torn curtain and spit, you look a little better.

Your a woman, tall almost freakishly so and fairly muscular, but a woman.

Your skin is pale almost deathly so and your body's covered in fine straight scars.
Your face seams to be pretty normal, mouth, ears, nose, a pair eyes in lovely shade of purple with a faint glow to them.
Your hair is just as bad your body, it's a raven black and greasy knotted mess that runs down to your knees.

You return to your search and find,
8 Reichsmarks, a pocket knife and a gold signet ring.
