Unrelated note, Frumple, does this classify as "noise music"?

For its day I suppose.
Oddly enough, not really. Probably anyway. The first real go at noise music is actually pretty old, though I forget the exact details of the monster instrument that was made to do it. Now that I check the earliest looks to be 1910s. Intonarumori, russolo. Would have been roughly contemporary to ornstein, actually.

Anyway, that's maybe a sort of precursor thing, but I'd probably put it in with some of the more experimental piano stuff that was somewhat popular... well, a while ago. Decade or five, forget the details. After jazz, in any case. Or before. One of the two, ahaha!

Also, I enjoy weird and worrying quotations (mainly snipping them from the Internet).

It's my "Voices from the Net" project, in fact!

I don't mind country musically, I just find the themes a bit repetitive. That's my fault for never really trying to listen to country music, but all the country I've heard sounds like cowboys moping about the non-specific "good ol' days".
I have a similar thing.
Its not that I can't stand the music, but that 90% of it is either just depressing, about jesus, or about shit like trucks or other "shit I don't care about"
Actually heard a country song that was pretty decent while at the dentists recently. It was apparently new, and the lyrics were something about "I might have dirt on my boots but we're gonna dance the dust off tonight" which was sung presumably at a ladyfriend.

As for my personal guilty pleasures I have a couple, in ascending guilt order:
1. Oglaf, the NSFW webcomic that is completely hilarious. Not too guilty about this one, but wouldn't want my mom to see me read it.

2. Highschool DxD which I would consider one of my favorite animus despite the blatant ecchi. Mostly guilty about it cuz I know that the haremshit framework is slowly killing anime, but the epic fight stuff is amazing enough to make me not care.

3. A couple webcomics by the same dude. "Tales of the Questor" and "Adventures of Quentyn Quinn" which are pretty much about the same raccoon anthro but in fantasy and sci-fi settings respectively.
The guilt comes from the fact the dude writing them is a complete fucking nutcase. He's one of those religious nutjobs who thinks everyone who believes in evolution is stupid and actually lying to themselves about believing in it. This is a thing he said. HE SAID THIS.
Its only really came up once in the actual comics, which are otherwise decent, though the sci-fi one has a tendency to make fun of other sci-fi stuff, like Star Trek and Warhammer 40K.
Some of which are decent points, like that yes the Enterprise IS shaped retardedly center of mass wise, others are kinda hollow (criticizing them for using antimatter cuz its dangerous when "zero point energy is plentiful and easy" LOL)

I suppose my minor furfriendery would count. It isn't something I'd advertise, or like to be commonly known. Lord knows where that could lead these days. I'm not so involved that I'd consider the suits and whatnot, but honestly, all respect to the people that do. Quite a lot of work go into it. Even the more, hmm... Carnal parts of that bit of the subculture deserves respect. They put some proper hard work into their kinks.
I have also developed into a bit of a snob. Not the openly rude and dismissive sort (that is very poor behaviour, unworthy of a gentleman), but I can be quite snobby inwardly, and picky with clothes. I like politeness and etiquette, because it creates a handy script for the occasion that you can fall back on. Nothing is quite so stressful to me as a forced "laid-back" and informal occasion that has no business being informal. There is a time and place for lazying about in jeans and T-shirt, but it isnt' all the time, surely?

As for music, I am a disaster area. I know bugger-all about music, except the bits that interests me. I like good old Kino (of all things), I like my old punk, some nice and sentimental country, and of course, Sabaton. Hell yes, Sabaton. Oh, and some nice old hymnal music, for tea. If you wonder what sort of sad old reactionary complains when hymns are shaved off public ceremonies, then I can reveal I'm one of them.

When people ask me what type of music I like I usually give noncommittal "various stuff" sort of answers...

That's because the real answer is that my favourite music growing up was almost entirely early-2000s J-pop/J-rock, with a heavy emphasis on anime music. Orange Range, Porno Graffitti, the pillows, etc. I have a collection of nearly 200 Digimon opening/insert/character songs and every single one of them fills me with joy and nostalgia. I also have a lot of Kamen Rider music that I love, with Kamen Rider probably being another guilty pleasure in itself. I regularly sing along with the openings.

There's just no point even attempting to go there if someone asks. :P

Honestly, my guiltiest pleasure has always been I really, really want to just sit down and create something. I have piles of snippets and bits and pieces of things I can just never bring myself to finish out of a deep sense of my work being worthless, or that I should be embarrassed to ever write or create something since I feel I can never do it properly.

But I keep doing it and leaving entire graveyards full of half realized nonsense on anything I can type or write on.

Thinking about it I don't know if the fact that I keep trying or the fact I'm always starting something new is the real guilt.

I am absolutely terrified of social interaction, to the point where I'll start sweating profusely when running a receipt out for a person at work.... and yet I get this adrenaline rush whenever I finish talking to someone.  I basically get high off of confronting my fear and not letting people know I'm terrified, most people I've met think I'm pretty nice and polite.... Heck I even got voted prom king somehow.

My guilty pleasure is watching truly insane conspiracy theory videos made by people who are obviously at least a little bit batshit on youtube.

Also watching hickok45, but thats not a guilty pleasure, its just a pleasure. What a goddamn paragon of an old man.

I wouldn't consider let's play a guilty pleasure in itself, but I feel kinda guilty about watching 3 hours a day on some days.

I also used to read entire walkthroughs for games that I had no interest in and would never play.

What about watching the entirety of a 24 hour gexathon stream? Twice?

Watching someone else play video games for 3 hours? Yeah I could consider that a guilty pleasure. Guilty pleasure to me is something you'd be semi-embarrassed to admit to doing.

If I want to hold myself accountable for actually following through on a creative endeavor, I involve other people in some manner.  Even if it's nothing more than dedicating a forum thread to it to show off progress to whoever cares to look.  If anybody pops in and expresses the slightest interest, it's motivating.  Even if only slightly, the thought creeps into my mind that someone out there has some level of hope or expectation to one day see more progress.

If you want to be super serious, find somebody willing to work on something with you.  Unless you're really sure you're not capable of following through.  Then maybe my advice is just setting you up for worse guilt :P

---

My guilty pleasures... I've clung to Marvel Puzzle Quest as a brainless activity for daily low-energy de-compression for a couple years now.  I feel stupid about having sunk so much cumulative time into such a worthless activity, but there it is.  And still going.

And... I don't hate Nickelback.  Some Manowar stuff I enjoy feels like it counts as guilty pleasure, too.

My guilty pleasure is video games. I've literally been playing them and have pretty much always played them since I was a toddler. Coupled with my intelligence it's led me to fascinating outlets of creativity. Most of these days though it's just mind numbing stuff on space station 13 servers. However, it does take a lot of time I could be using to do work on other productive stuff.
