Name: Nariglen (pronounced nawr-ee-glenn)
Sex: Male
Description: An octopus of no significantly large or small size (for octopuses at least) with "skin" of a dark brown, rock-like complexion. Mentally, he is quite intelligent, though he prefers to think quickly and take a pragmatic approach to solving problems. He is very serious and doesn't let loose often. He does not feel any differently about land dwellers than he does about sea dwellers, but finds rodents to be absolutely delicious, and generally prefers dry land's cuisine.
Species of Animal: Abdopus Aculeatus, a species of octopus which in reality is adapted to moving on land, but in-universe has mutated to become just about amphibious.

Traits:
[+3]Rubbery body: A mix of no skeleton to break and stringy, resilient flesh makes it difficult to harm octopuses; plus, being boneless means you're good at squeezing. physical damage taken is reduced by 25% and Nariglen can squirm through improbably small gaps; anything his beak (and pouch, unless he leaves it behind) can fit through, he can fit his entire body through.
[+1]Amphibious: thank heavens for mucous; without it, so many creatures would be sea-locked. Nariglen can create a film of mucous in any body of water which lets them survive for up to 20 actions on dry land, 10 in dry conditions (like deserts or summer in some places), or indefinitely in especially wet climates, such as swamps and bogs.
[-2]Cold blooded: Needs an external heat source (for example, the sun) to stay warm. The colder it gets, the more sluggish Nariglen gets, to the point of catatonia. Nariglen is especially helpless against icy waters! [-1 to all movement rolls and all rolls for major actions for each turn spent in cold conditions, -2 if submerged. As the penalty gets worse, each turn has an increased chance that Nariglen will go comatose until warm conditions return.]
[-2]Boneless: Sometimes, bones can come in reeeeeally handy. Nariglen naturally gets -2 to physicality rolls due to the natural weakness of his spongy appendages.
- Tentacles: Octopus, son. Nariglen has 8 prehensile limbs, and while they're far from opposable thumbs, they have suckers that can stick to most surfaces. [Can grip objects and stick to most surfaces, but lacks the dexterity to use anything more than very basic tools.]
Inventory:
Pouch with strap: a pouch with a good, solid strap that Nariglen keeps tied tightly around the base of one of his tentacles. It stays in place surprisingly well.
X-acto knife: A small, razor-sharp blade attached to a metal handle. Handy for cutting without needing to apply too much elbow grease, but
much more of a tool than a weapon.
Offspring: none
