Also peek what's in the corridor in case there's something more attention worthy than the bag.

Before going for the cloth bag against the wall you decide to first check the corridor in case anything more important is around.

Left side

Right side

Well nothing of immediate importance or danger is in sight.
You re-enter the room.

Open bag. What's inside?

Also, crosspost to SufficientVelocity. My plan to get hundreds of bay12ers to migrate will continue to fruit, damnit!

As you walk back to your original spot in the room you pick up the small cloth bag and bring it with you.

Inside the bag you find;
A golden pendant, fitted with a sapphire charm in the center in a circular shape. On the sapphire is the imagery of fauna and flowers. There is nothing on the other side of the pendant.
A golden whistle, it is engraved with several swords each unique, on its base. it feels light.
A quartz soapstone/chalk-like stone.
A dark blue stone ring. It is finely crafted and smooth to the touch. On it is a pattern of knots around it's cylinder. You guess that it's either obsidian, melanite or just jet.

> Store chain inside skull

You noticed a chain on the ground earlier, you could feel the loneliness in the cold iron as it lay on the ground, you knew it needed a new home. Your skull would do perfectly.
You pick up the chain and insert it into your skull, through the right eye-hole, and you notice that it doesn't all fit so you wrap the slack around your skull.
The chain is now safe and in your possession, in addition if anything where to hit your head there would be a chance of it hitting the chain instead, very clever Arthur Kane.

Now lets put on the ring and go right, peer down the far corridor. We can check doors later.

Love the chain eyepatch.

General best strategy for exploring in any dungeon crawl is to clear room by room. Explore errything in an area before opening a door. Lets you keep track of progress and lets you know if other stuff is moving around opening doors.

You slide the stone ring unto your left index finger, letting rest firmly on your exposed knuckle.
A moment after the ring was placed you see white, almost fog like air swirl and flow across your fingers and around your skeleton hand. You notice that one of the small puffs of foggy air has a ghoulish face.
The fog soon dissipates and nothing seems to have changed physically, except that you feel a bit colder.
You close the small cotton bag and use it's strap to attach it around your slim waist/spine.

You decide that it's time to explore some more, disregarding the door on the left and the one in the hallway, you hold the corridor wall tight as you begin to peek past it to see what could be down the next hallway.
At the end of the curve of the corridor you see some stairs leading down from an opening in the wall and an open doorway leading to a room.
Within the room you can only glimpse at what seems like some beds, a torch, maybe a shield and some banners?
You see that the doorway is decorated as much as the last one you saw, finely carved out of wood it seems, are symbols and drawings.

You check yourself for memories...
(ROLL: 3!) Nope all you can remember is awakening as a skeleton...

I see that symbol on the back of our head, you sneaky GM.
Try and take off the ring.

Check to see if anyone is inside, and if not then loot the bedroom.
