Backstory: fleshyius was not originally named flesyshius he was orginally named John Doe and was originally a surgeon, but then a wizard ended up dying on his table and things went down hill from there. You scream in a very high pitched and breathy way and immediately hide behind Fleyshius, clinging to his back and shrinking down to then cling to the back of his legs. Your head whips around in all directions in a way that would make a priest very nervous, your eyes bugged out and scanning the horizon, the sky, the ground and everything in between. You make whining noises and kick your feet and try to pull Fleyshius away from the scary child thing. He seems to see the wisdom in that and you both slowly scoot away until you manage to the top of a dune. You immediately grab him and pull him down, both of you roll down the hill and end up in a pile at the bottom, awkwardly entangled but safe.
Try to recall what was going on with the kids. Did they come back okay? Did they come back wrong?

The letter said only that the dead children had been reappearing, it said nothing about how or in what form. But it stands to reason that if they simply miraculously reappeared in normal and unchanged form, people probably wouldn't be sending you to investigate.
Use senses to keep an eye out for any more threats showing up. Stay a safe distance away from the child and watch it. If it turns into a threat, cut it down alongside my summons.

You watch the child while keeping the rest of the world around you observed via your summons. Your summons are violently on edge; it feels like someone has your head in their hands and is squeezing as hard as they can. The malevolent pressure is crushing but it has no direction, it's all around you, grinding at your skin, cutting into you like an electric knife. You squint at the child and notice that it is actually moving. Its head is vibrating side to side, very slightly. And inhumanly quickly.
Marcus nudges Alanna, nodding toward the child. Alanna shoots him a bewildered look, but Marcus continues to nod in the apparitions direction.

"Is dead child, like mission said. Marcus thinks light interrogation is needed."

The child turns to look at you. It doesn't turn its head, its entire body and head turn towards you without moving a muscle. As though it was a solid marble statue turning on its axis. It stares. Like the point of a knife placed gently on your forehead.
