oh I'm sure people are going to be demanding recounts that's inevitable. especially if Clinton wins the popular vote which it looks like she might.

Dunno how much of a difference it would make, though. The places she's been gaining population in the tail of this are mostly places the EC was already called for her, so there's not really chance of gain on that front. Odds are looking good at the mo' she takes the popular vote, but that just means we get to have another election where the winner of the popular vote doesn't take the presidency. Hopefully it won't turn out as poorly as the last time.

So basically when people were saying some really weird shit would have to happen for Clinton to win the popular vote but lose the electoral vote, we should have realized that was the guaranteed result.

Don't write off 2016 just yet, there's still time for more dimensional anomalies.
We were going to reveal the fact that we've been spying on the human race for aeons so as to make sure they don't kill themselves, but we're doing a bad job, and the fbi threatened to drag all of our agents to area 51 if we revealed our true intentions. Sorry.

Fun fact: barring a serious diet between now and January, Donald will weigh more than any president since Taft, which is interesting, given his proclivity to insult people for their weight.

A couple of mildly amusing measures from my neck of the woods:

A requirement that people "acting" in pornographic films wear condoms.
The legalization of marijuana for those 21 or older.

I'd laugh if it turns out everything Trump does turns out to be right through some inexplicable reason.  Inexplicably seems to be a theme of his political career so far...

I'd like to think he now has the power to fight corruption and fix the government.  In reality, he probably just get in more twitter fights and not really do anything.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Well, he has a fair measure of the power, yes. He's also a person whose history is laced with decades of fraud and corruption, and who habitually lies about pretty much everything, including his positions and intended actions. It's conceptually possible he'll fight corruption! He could throw out just about every iota of character or behavior he's shown the public in his lifetime. Maybe decide that now's actually the time to stop making his way as a con man, to cobble together a moral code that excludes more than just murder. It'd be nice. A lot of people would feel a lot better, be less worried about a lot of stuff. Everything we know about the man points otherwise, and hard. But it's possible. It'd be nice.

Hey, improbability is the name of his political career.  Could be more likely than you think.

Right, let's get off of Trump.  How did the propositions and amendments to state constitutions go for everyone?

For my state:
Prop A: A 23 cent tax upon cigarettes for transportation and infrastructure failed with a 55% vote against.
Amend 1: The tax for maintaining soil and water conservation, as well as State Parks, has been passed with an 80% vote for.  It will last 10 years before voted upon again.
Amend 2: Limits have been established on campaign contributions for state and judicial offices, with a 70% vote in favor.
Amend 3: A 60 cent tax on cigarettes to be used for an Early Childhood Health and Education Trust Fund failed, with a 60% vote against.
Amend 4: No new sales tax can be made on services not already taxed passed with a 57% vote in favor.
Amend 5: Voters are required to present ID to prove identity, citizenship, and residence passed with a 60% vote in favor.

So how badly did my state fuck up?
