Considering this fantasy world probably doesn't have phones, our patrons can't really order in advance before they show up at the tavern. Maybe a later upgrade could include a crystal ball or magic mirror or something to allow that?

Tip: The Mercenary Guild is synonymous with the Thieves Guild. I mean, what kind of idiot would actually call their guild the Thieves Guild?



Wave 0: 6AM

Ars drummed his fingers on the bar table as he went on with his usual hem-hawing.

ARS: Maybe we could use our free time to prepare in advance. Noc, you've been writing down what the customers tend to order, right?
NOC: O-oh! Yes, sir, but I don't have enough data yet. Maybe we can wait for actual customers? It's not like today will likely be crowded...
ARS: Bah, statistics and their inability to actually tell the future!

(OOC: Since you guys can indefinitely redraw cards until patrons arrive, and you guys seem to want a patron to arrive, I'll redraw until a patron shows up, or something interesting happens.)

GWEN: Maybe it's just Nem getting stuffs down there?
NEM: Nem is standing right next to you...
GWEN: AAAAA!
NEM: Nem thinks he's developing passive sneak skills.

KET: ...Aaaaanyways, somebody should investigate.

ARS: Or we could ignore it and work. What do you expect it to be, a tarrasque in the pantry?

Wave 0: 6AM

[KET ASSIGNED: EVENT. He will not be able to do anything this turn, but can keep acting in event.]

Ket unsheathed his longsword- well, a shortsword to humans. He ignored the elder’s eyeroll as he ventured to the backrooms, and down the stairs.

The pantry was a small underground room, rows of beer kegs and dry food organized neatly by Noc and Gwen. Opposite to the stairs, an ensorceled door that only open to the sorcerer’s kin. Fortunately, the sorcerer in question was Ars. The door led to the storage, which contained their wealth.

The swordskobold took a careful look around the pantry first, but the room was as clean and quiet as it could be. They don’t even have rats, since the elder placed wards against vermins.

The noise again. Something metallic colliding. Reminded Ket of… when Ars was counting coins? But Ars was upstairs.

A thief? But if the thief could bypass an area watched by a shaman with the True Sight, and bypass the magic door, then maybe Ket might need to be careful and call for his uncle’s backup. On the other hand, the thief might be gone by the time he convinced that old codger to pry his butt from the chair.

Meanwhile, a discreetly dressed man wandered into the tavern. He wore a long, black, hooded cloak. His face was obscured in shadows. He was armed to the teeth. You know. Very discreet.

He sat on one of the table, took out a coin, and played around with it like a totally cool mysterious rogue. Ars nudged Noc to go take his orders before he started playing with his knives and accidentally cut his fingers, or, more importantly, scratch the table.

NOC: H-hello, sir? What would you like to order?
DUFF: (Wait, what's that drink with the honey that adventurers drink again?)
DUFF: Mead.
DUFF: (How do I even order a sandwich and look cool, the word just sounds dumb. Ugh, fuck it.)
DUFF: And a sandwich. Got it?

NOC: ...Yes sir.



A jauntily-dressed bard wandered into the tavernn, whistling merrily. She then walked into one of the tables and crumpled with a yelp of pain.

AMBER: Ow! Ow! No... I'm fine. Thanks.

She waved the concerned kobolds away.

-1. In my opinion, he should be making toast, since Ars can't do that but can make mead. I'd like to look behind door number one before that, though, in case there's a massive fight that requires more 'bolds to join the event.

Send the bouncer to investigate the noise. Spooky noises scare patrons. Also, why are we not investigating the Hurt Bard? Send the Shaman over. Maybe he can do voodoo magic healings.

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.
