Examine the following: The memorial, The bottle next to the memorial, the person running down the sidewalk next to our office.

The memorial in question is probably the plainest statue here. It's about fifty years old, built to mark the tenth anniversary of Bratislaw's assession to the Dominion. In 2024, the advancing parts of 1st Infantry arrived at the historic meeting with their local counterpart, Bratislaw's militia under the command of Gen. Ira Lowell. Some elderly citizens still can relate to that day. Anyway, the Memorial to The Fallen is much more popular here.

As for the bottle,it appears to be some cheap imported rice vodka. The bottle is empty.

I have no idea who the dude you are asking about might be. He's not running, he's just slouched. From what I can tell he's some kind of an authority man since he's wearing a bureaucrat's formal garb.

Remember what the building next to the office is.

You mean, that ordinary-looking brick building? Well, it's a minor supply depot for our department. That's also where the electricians usually leave their utility truck.

Observe the bum on the bench.

This plus PTW.

Let's see. Here we have a fine specimen of Madraeryu. He is wearing leather boots, some formal pants and a messy looking turtleneck (could have called him a member of the Turtleneck Club if he wasn't that messy). He is drinking some canned ice tea. Looks like he's currently suffering from a hangover. It seems that the person we're discussing is desperately trying to get a certain message through, and this message is "Why the fuck are you staring at me?"

And, uh, then, to the office?

Sure, let's go to the office.

If I collect the correspondence and go through the tourniquet, that will mean my working day has officially started. Is there anything I could probably do before that?

Buy some clothes and do some laundry.

Sweet idea. My shirt clearly needs washing, and since now I feel somewhat more confident about what I should wear, I ought to go shopping for clothes as well. That'll take time, though. This evening, maybe?

Come to think of it, why are all the humans we've seen so far either soldiers or important in some way?

True. That is a movie theatre. The word "Kino" meant movement in some ancient language. Moving pictures. Makes sence.

Huh, that's an interesting question. Before the alien war, Madraeryu made up about 70% of Bratislaw's population, with humans at 20%, the rest being other races and modificants. After the war, when the Pure Domain anshlussed our town, the positions in administration were mostly given to their citizens, especially during the very first years. And, since unmodified humans are a considerable part of the Domain ... It changed, though, soon after home rule law was introduced.

As for the soldiers... Well, the Army is conscripted from the less privileged cities and towns of the Dominion, few Bratislavians are allowed in as officers or specialists. And that really takes commitment to become one, the competition is crazy. And the police force? After the militia got disbanded, the Dominion Police Department took over, and it did not hire locals, no matter if they were Madrae, humans, seafolk or anyone. That had fueled many protests since then... If you see a Madraeryu officer here, trust me - they're' either from the Domain, or they got exepionally lucky.

How long has it been since you last went shopping for groceries?

It has been a couple o'days, I think? Well, maybe I should restock my fridge.

Also, I'd like to note that any kind of feedback on the comic is welcome since I have no idea what you guys would prefer to see here. I've been rather busy with my exams recently not to mention other stuff, and also I kinda wanted to switch to another type of comic for a while. However, I might be able to squeeze in a side story of sorts to spice shit up since the main line's processing a bit slow. What do you dudes and dudettes think? Should I pay more attention to my art and take more time in between updates? Should I make quicker updates with less pictures? Should I change the style? Should I introduce an action-filled side story with my new character? Should I just quit? I'd fancy some advice here.

Alright. The mailbox's half empty. Means less work to do.

"...And then she murmurs, "That'll be 100 credits for you, sir".

"Heh. What a shame".

"Oi, Maugham... Had a rough night, eh?".

As for feedback, so far, the main thing I can think of is that when some knowledge is already available to Maugham - like our coworkers' identities here, you might as well tell us about it as soon as it gets relevant.
Also, if you feel overwhelmed by the art you have to do, you probably should skip the less important pictures.

Sorry for the wait, lads. I've been had things to do, and also I was not really content with how the final picture turned out. The initial variant was equally as shitty tho.

"Rough is one way to describe it... What's with that rubber duck helmet of yours?"

"Rubber ducky what? We're inspecting the main node today, man gotta dress for the occasion."

Mr. Hudges is the chief communications engineer for our department. He works next door and only drops by sometimes to issue an invoice, or to chat with the accountant. What a smartass.

Ms. Raeder is the accountant. She waters the plants and does most of the paperwork here. So do I sometimes.
