I, Olin "Jecowa" Aralast (the bookkeeper), am proud to have been elected as your overseer for the next term.

Changes so far:
  • Drafted Thob Alĺthducim into The Granite Curls military squad bringing its membership up to 6.
  • Placed Addornirmek the artifact Weapon Rack in the Barracks. (Ďngiz Logemrâluk, the creator, is proud to have it on display where it can be admired by all the soldiers.)
  • Switched two of the five workshops from producing Scroll Wheels to Nest Boxes and Pot (for Turkey Eggs and Booze).
Goals for the year:
  • Build a temple to the Seven:
    Spoiler (click to show/hide)
  • Expand the Tree Farm.
  • Build a new Glass Furnace. (I can't seem to find the old one.)
  • Make the palisade unclimbable. (Was thinking about making the windmill hole also unclimbable, but it might be fun to have a goblin fall in.)
  • Secure the Caverns stairwell.
  • Continue making bedrooms.
  • Provide more writing materials for the The Gilded Treasury library.
  • Provide more goblets, instruments, and seating for The Stirred Dumpling tavern.
If any dwarves have petitions for me to consider, please make them known.

Neat palisade, gwolfski.

Hahaha herbalists rock.

Oh wow a plant path? Did you you lay that out on purpose?

- Hm, Malachite and Hematite look nice together with marble.

- Why is there a windmill in the dining room?

- Love the moods. A BD bait is always nice.

- Game crash, did it eat it all?

Good luck, jecowa. Sounds like you have fair few goals.

Does the fort have any other artifact  furniture?

Goblins would just climb down, but unless it is like 53z deep spike-laden lead pit I doubt it'd be an effective defensive measure.

Seven gods, huh? Does DT collect that list or was it done manually?

I suggest approving all non-dwarven non-mercenary petitions.

No more artiface furniture has been produced since Gwolfski's reign, but Kosoth Idlised (stonecrafter) created Zakgolalak Nentuktotmon (a limestone amulet). Those are the only two artifacts we have at the moment.

Thanks for the info on the hole. I'll try to secure that better without blocking the wind.

I made the list of their 7 gods manually by checking the relationships screen of every dwarf. I was curious if any were way more popular than the others. At first it looked like there was going to be a heavy bias towards Dasël, but things started getting pretty even towards the end.

Human Poets and Travelers keep visiting the tavern. None have petitioned for residency, though.

Thanks for the tips about Goblins climbing. I'll try to secure that hole better.

*Ringringlingling feels better after throwing furniture*

Okay, I'm back from my temper tantrum at Deathfort after apologizing.  Sounds like you are doing pretty good, Jecowa.  Are you interested in signing up, Fleeting Frames?  Anybody else want a second go at it?

I have a petition, something which I always seem to forget.

Build some jail cells!  Preferably with chains, beds, booze, food, a table and a chair.

Oh, a couple of other things.

1) Replace garbage area with open air pitt to throw garbage down w/access bridge (to prevent refuse stinking/ turning undead during necro seige)
2) An execution hole with a hatch/drawbridge on it linked to a lever, with a burrow to assign potential trouble makers to.

Maybe they could be the same setup, leaving the hatch/drawbridge open most of the time for garbage and closing it to let a dwarf stand on it before pulling it to deliver executions.  (Make sure to have a bridge access to it so you can grab stuff you dump if you need it)

I've been having trouble with imgur and think it might not like me hotlinking images so much. So my post with pictures is on there:

Save file download:
http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=12576

I might have been doing something wrong, but no traders came by during my term.

Most of the levers are labeled now, by the way. Just press shift-n to bring it up.

Also, if you want to pierce the caverns, fortify the piece of smoothed wall in the narrow mineshaft extending south of the cavern stairwell on B-13.

We got only 1 migration wave. It had only 8 dwarves. Here's some highlights of the migrant wave:
  • an accomplished furnace operator
  • high master dyer
  • high master bee keeper
  • grand master metalcrafter.

Please let me know if I did anything wrong. I haven't played Dwarf Fortress much, and this is my first time to do a community game. So I'd appreciate any info on what I should be doing differently.

Alright Gwolfski, you're up.

I might take another turn myself after you.

If you haven't already started yet, note that we ran out of fertilizer towards the end of the year. I'm not sure if we need more, though. We seem to have quite a large number of plants.
