Mr. Johnson puts his hands together and takes a breath. Then he releases.
"The basement is full of Giant Rodents. I will let you stay for free for a month on top of whatever time you have if you take care of it."

Sabimushi twirls one of his swords around, grinning. "Alright, certainly sounds like a job!"

"The chocolate will be ready in a minute. Six dollars twenty cents."

Ray pays in USD.

Money is taken and food is given. Woo.

"I don't really care how you do it so long as you don't cause property damage."
He pauses and thinks for a moment.
"Er, too much property damage."

Marisa shrugs, pockets her book, and heads toward the basement. "Come on, then, you get to smash things now." The demon drops the table it was holding - fortunately not from too high - and scrambles downstairs.

Kurushimi confidently strides down the stairs after them, hands already on their sword.

Elizabeth takes out a book bound in some red leather, and follows them down.

"You can count on me!" He follows Elizabeth down.

The group would find Maribelle standing at a door that presumably leads down to the basement. She fiercely holds a broom at the ready as she guards the door from rodent intruders. Heading down, they would find that the basement is rather dark. Kind of obvious since the main room didn't seem to have any electrical inputs or lights. Reaching the bottom would reveal that the basement is in a bit of a state of disrepair and could do with a good dusting. It might even be pleasant if someone were to put a throw rug down in the middle of the room. Of course, a good first step would be getting rid of the pack of slavering rats(?) running at them. The group may notice that the narrator put a question mark in parentheses after rats. That would be because they're more anthropomorphic than the typical group of vicious giant rats, what with them being about three feet tall and hunched over, grasping makeshift weapons and wearing rather fetching burlap sacks, some of the more feminine ones even seem to have flowers printed on theirs. Or maybe they're men, it's hard to tell in the dark. Isn't it amazing how you can wonder on all these things while the Rats are frozen in space? Too bad you have to respond as well at some point.

Kurushimi waits for the nearest rat to come into range and neatly slashes through their abdomen with one swipe.

The demon more or less just charges into the mix of them, swinging wildly in a rage like. . . well, like a demon. Marisa prepares a couple spells, but otherwise seems to be rather nonchalant, if not bored about the whole thing.

Sabimushi flips his swords into a stylish grip, posing. "Heh, this is gonna be nothing but a piece of cake! prepare to face the might..." He leaps directly at the rodents, spinning rapidly. "Of a master swordsma-!" Due to this, he accidentally lands flat on his back with a loud thud.

"... Ow."
