Derelict is a horror, high lethality game set in a gritty sci fi universe with fantasy and alien races.

It's currently a work in progress and will be my first time GMing so i'd appreciate advice and feedback but the system i'm using for it is being built from the ground up, I currently have the stats and skills set up and the Terran races are finished, I have a discord for those wanting to discuss and set up character sheets for when the game starts here:

The setting goes as follows: The players are all crew on board the USCG Frontier, a even occurs which causes the ship to be destroyed and the players are all in the same escape pod. The escape pods all have cyro tubes for freezing escapees before shooting them off to space. The players awake from their cryo tubes being comprised and find out that they are in a graveyard of ships in a distant and unknown system, the players have a limited oxygen and supplies. The game will be focus on ship maintenance, supplies, exploration and combat and will not be forgiving, game docs for the system can be given on request on the discord.

Of course there are still details that need to be decided and i'm sure it seems very incomplete, but that's because it is, any advice from experienced GM's will be very welcome.

@Kavrick: My best advice as an 'experienced GM'

1. Don't take more than 4-6 players
2. Have some the info for some encounter/location detail written up beforehand
3. Be flexible with your system. If a rule is too complicated for you to remember without looking up a chart, you wanna limit how many charts you have to look up.

Also, this site is good for making combat maps, if you use those.

Personal Background:
Born to a large family on [insert home world here]. As the 7th of 10 children, he tended to fade into the background. He was a bit of an outcast among his people, and in an effort to understand them better, he started watch them. A little too closely. Within a month, he knew ever dirty little secret in the entire town. After a few years, he had mastered his investigative skills. When the USGC came to the planet and said they were seeking volunteers for a private police force, he was an obvious pick.

Looks good to me, medical records is things like having a limp, being blind, allergies, etc. If you give yourself a good enough handicap i'll consider giving skill points out, also with your skills you dont want to spread them out too much, but it's up to you 5 is a professional level of skill

Edit: also remember to write how much storage you have, you can carry as much as you can carry to the escape pods.

Yeah, but from what I understand about the skill points system, that would be pretty expensive.

1-2 is novice 3-4 is trained 5 is professional and 5+ is master levels
