OK, my head hurts, what numbers would I roll here? Just a straight 1d10? What modifiers? I'm pretty sure I figured out the target, but that's all. I can't find what I have to roll or add to the roll.

I think it might have been a typo? I don't know why you would roll a d10, but only use 0-9...?

Alright, I actually found the golden ratio. I think!

1d10 + skill level + attributes/4 is what determines all skill checks...right?

if it is, I rolled a 8 (4+plus my attribute), or maybe it's actually a seven, either way it's a Fail.

That would give the same result I guess . On a physical die, a 10 just shows up as a 0, so he wants us to treat that as a fumble.

That changes the chances of failure. 1d10-1 and 0-9 have the same chances though, which is what I was saying.

Wonderfully put: if that rule is being correctly interpretated, then the game effectively uses 1d10-1 as its main die.
