Actaully, I've won two games as town  but I'm really shit, I promise. Just ask Hector13. Can I still play?

Naaaaah, you just got caught up on one thing and wouldn't let go. Not an altogether bad thing - I do it myself - and I think we ended up winning that in the end... but learning what's good to focus on and when to let something go comes with experience.

As Beginner's Mafia--how will you support their learning then?

I looked at the awesome resources from Beginner's Mafia LX, and they cover everything from abbreviations to how to figure out who's in the Mafia. I honestly think that ICs will just cause meta-playing, and over reliance.

But that's one part of being an IC Knowing personal bias. The role of the IC is to teach the mechanics and social concepts of the game in an interactive way towards the players; rather than meta-gaming and really just messing up things because of several lacking components
While, yeah, there's no tangible guide in superb detail in regards to personality traits and guidance with values--that much is known by experience (or at least in my 3+ years on this board :O). Given the dynamics and variety of people here, you'll also be working with personality a lot.

Also there's the issue with reliance--ICs, at least here, play without holding hands. Nobody learns if they're not exposed to situations, and personal handling and such in the forum-context (where body language and other physical descriptors are absent) focus on detail and communication; several factors very important in making a good Mafia game (and less of 'lol lynch them').

So...I'm curious what else is on your mind about avoiding ICs :O And what will you do if you do not reach the 10 person newbie quota?

Honestly, a game where everyone is inexperienced sounds interesting. It's possible it could be a trainwreck (in which case you just have some experienced non-players give some advice), but I want to see what kind of strategies and meta form on their own.

I'm experienced but hideously out of practice, and would be willing to serve as a rusty IC or less invasive equivalent if you need one.

The idea of an all-noob game does sound interesting, but I'm afraid people might just fall into the same boring obvious-once-you-hear-it mistakes, rather than trying new things and finding their own way. Notably with activity and proactiveness; "play more" is a really important first lesson, in my opinion, but not necessarily the kind of thing your fellow players are going to push all that much unless they think you're lurking scum.
