Year 1, January
Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)

The joint coronation and marriage of the young emperor to his wife was a most auspicious occasion. Feasts were held across imperial lands, the peasants celebrated in the streets and there was much rejoicing on behalf of the nobility. So said the letter you received from your dignitary anyway. For you had not been invited. You had not rejoiced. Your peasants certainly hadn't been dancing in the streets. Along with it is an updated version of the Imperial Vassal agreement. You can't help but notice that your duties have become even more debilitating, whilst the emperor's is almost non-existent. At least with the decentralisation agreement, you are no longer a puppet.

Your dignitary(s) are currently maintaining the vassaldom agreement and a spy ring, however you could always get them to do something interesting on your behalf. You also have a number of soldiers, who are fully paid until September when the harvest tax is due. Further, you could invest some of your meagre wealth into infrastructure to improve the lot of the peasants, and you with them.

What should you do with your new found freedom, my liege?

Was wondering who I was briefly. Galliene is me, for future reference. If I've parsed this right, I'm Taricus' vassal? Or there's been a formatting error.

Okay if i get the rules right i can build 8 More Towns and Castles in both my Capital and my Town Regions...or did i read that wrong?

Also just to make sure to claim unclaimed land i need to build a Watchtower (or castle or town) there?

Also maybe i am reading this wrong but there seems to be no way of raising VIlleins to Freemen.

First error found! Yeah, that's me messing up the formatting. You are all vassals of the Emperor, not each other. If you read the agreement carefully, you will also notice there's nothing against infighting within the empire either :P

((Also, it is Lady Kenya who is the ruler, and it is Lord Omar.))
Will fix that.

The big 3x3 squares are the regions. The little 1x1 ones are the subregions. I ended up making this map quite small and dense (at odds with the OP) because otherwise the Expand section of this 4X will take forever.

Also just to make sure to claim unclaimed land i need to build a Watchtower (or castle or town) there?
Yes.

Also maybe i am reading this wrong but there seems to be no way of raising VIlleins to Freemen.
Also true. Currently. Research can amend that.

Can we raname locations?
Please do. The provided names are utter garbage.

Speaking of Research, I completely forgot to mention the following:
Those with the Learning trait (Grek, Felissan, Flazeo25 & Tophat), you start with some tech of your choice already. PM a few topics of interest and we'll discuss what you can have.

I am renaming Greymane town Oldtown, Greyfield is being named Greatstone, Greyfarm is being renamed Greycliffe, and Greydown is being renamed Seastone. Greymane castle is being renamed Eldrath Keep, and I am renaming the hills that I am situated in the Eldrathion Highlands.
Edit: I would like to build a small village in I3. I have very little wood.

I would like to point out that both me and my character are male. It is lord andrea and lady demeter.

edit: I'll prepare a turn. Do all deals require dignitaries or can we also do some secret pacts/ gentlemen's agreement through PM? ( clearly, those wouldn't have a game mechanic value and could be broken. Just wondering if there are restrictions on freeform diplomacy.

In the holdings tab you can see the coords of holdings. You can use those to match a town to a player.

edit: I am spreadsheeting the whole thing. Should have done it earlier.

By the way.
@kashyyk
1)I see that land extenson is said to work geometrically ( seemingly x2 each step), however the first extension is 50 gold while the second is 200. Is that an intended break of sequence? ( as in the first extension is cheaper that itwould be) or should it be 100 gold?

2) can a player build a minor holding in a region controlled by another player? I assume not ( barring some treaties perhaps), but better ask before doing some strategic level mistakes.

@Imic
Villages require masons, you don't have a mason guild.

I apologise. I've always read Andrea as a female name. I'll edit it momentarily.

edit: I'll prepare a turn. Do all deals require dignitaries or can we also do some secret pacts/ gentlemen's agreement through PM? ( clearly, those wouldn't have a game mechanic value and could be broken. Just wondering if there are restrictions on freeform diplomacy.
Anything game binding requires dignitaries. You are perfectly welcome to talk with your neighbours, or even people on the other side of the map and agree with your neighbour to not invade each other's land, but in order to have any form of in game mechanics effect you'll need a dignitary.

Which red and yellows are which on the map? Three houses use variations of Red and Yellow colors
There are several yes. As Andrea pointed out, you can match up the coords in each status update to work it out. If you think it'll be useful, I can also add somwthing to the map iteslf as well.

1)I see that land extenson is said to work geometrically ( seemingly x2 each step), however the first extension is 50 gold while the second is 200. Is that an intended break of sequence? ( as in the first extension is cheaper that itwould be) or should it be 100 gold?
I could have phrased that better. The cost goes up by 4x that of the previous level.

2) can a player build a minor holding in a region controlled by another player? I assume not ( barring some treaties perhaps), but better ask before doing some strategic level mistakes.
You are correct. A treaty could allow this.

Regarding Treaties:
You are welcome to come up with any treaty you like between yourselves and I will do my best to accommodate for it in the rules.

Would house Asherwick be partial to an agreement over the divvying of the surrounding lands and a mutual defense treaty if either of our drawn borders are crossed?
